Is there a changelog from rv109 to rv112?
How can I upgrade from rv109 without lost data/app?

So far I can tell the start screen now says megabox instead of Google TV.
You can now select YUV or RGB colour mode in display settings.
They’ve fixed the darkness issue that’s plagued most of these amlogic Android 6 and above tv boxes.
Runs stablish….. Have has a few apps say they’re crashed after closing but once offs.

    That’s it so far…

A few days in and have found that this particular firmware constantly crashes apps especially Kodi, it’s pretty crap by developers that they don’t really test out firmware before releasing… 🙄

I’ve tried to make the update from an SD card with Amlogic Burn Card Maker but the upgrading screen is always stucked at 5% of the progress bar.
Everything I’ve tried is not working, I can’t manage to install rv 112, 111, 110 or put back the 109 version from chinagadgetsreviews.com.
There are few questions to ask:
    – Do I need the stock firmware that came with my Mini M8SII box?
    – Where can I find it?
    – Is my Mini box bricked?

I also tried with Amlogic USB Burning Tool but to no avail.
    I get the following errors:
    – [0x30201006]UBOOT/Disk initialize/Send command/Time out
    – [0x00101004]Erase bootloader/Lowper/Identify/Error result
    – [0x10101002]Romcode/Initialize DDR/Identify/USB Control setup error

    Hey sgc

Leave me your email and I’ll send you the files you need, sounds like your USB burning tool doesn’t have the right licence so it will fail.

Also it wont work with a SD card so don’t try! it can only be flashed!

If you want my advice stick with RV109, much smoother and stable compared to the others so keep that image file and add it on its own.

    Thanks: 1

Please, what is the best stock firmware version?

I’m currently at version 106 without OTA, but I see that you get to version 112

I am trying to flash to RV109 and I keep getting the error using the burning tool

RV 109 is by far the best and most stable firmware. Only issue is darkness but if you can increase your gamma or brightness for the one channel and disable the amlogic codec via Kodi then all is fine.
Don’t use anything that says megabox or higher number firmware as when tested I have found buggy and with many crashes.

If you want help in how to flash look at my earlier post.

I have a new unit running RV115 that seems stable so far. My issue is the installed Bluetooth protocol/policy will not let the box communicate correctly with my new mini keyboard. Keyboard connects and works as advertised with my FireStick, but when paired then connected to the M8Sii, will not accept input from the keyboard.
Is there a way to edit/flash the Bluetooth protocol separately?

Has anyone got this to work?
    M8Sii –> RII i8+ BT mini keyboard

NOT 2.4g wireless, but Bluetooth. It should work, but seems like the developers placed too much emphasis on Android phone version Bluetooth for headphone/speaker connection rather than HID connections which are just as if not more important for a TV box.
