Chuwi Hi10 Pro 2 in 1 tablet, great performance at a bargain price

The Chuwi Hi10 Pro is an affordable tablet booting Windows 10 and Android Lollipop — what’s more, the $239.99 tablet comes with a handy keyboard and you can also add on a stylus to the mix. Sounds like an impressive deal, doesn’t it? Well, we are here to find out for sure.

Chuwi Hi10 Pro

Full metal unibody design
The first thing of note about the Chuwi Hi10 Pro is the full metal unibody design featuring an exquisite aluminum alloy chassis. The curved edges are a nice touch — both for the “look” and in practical terms — they guarantee a better grip and can take everyday handling.

The bezel on this model is quite thick — which is another advantage for the practicality as you don’t have to worry about your thumbs smudging the screen as you are carrying the tablet. You get a decent selection of connectivity options: an SD card slot, a USB Type-C charging slot, a micro USB, a micro HDMI, and the 3.5mm headphone jack. The keyboard also comes with a USB port.

Hardware & software performance
The Hi10 Pro is powered by the Intel Cherry Trail Z8350 ( Intel Atom X5-Z8350 ) 64bit Quad Core clocking up to 1.92GHz. Thus, you will easily be able to run most of the modern apps and not too high-maintenance games.

For internal storage, you get 64GB, which you can extend up to 128GB. But mind that it is eMMC, not SSD. The tablet comes with 4GB of RAM for basic multitasking needs — and you will have no problem running several apps at once.

With that, keep in mind that the tablet is primarily meant for a basic professional or student workload and standard entertainment: office apps, multimedia, Skype calls, simple gaming, etc. However, if you do push it with complex video apps or powerful gaming — you may feel a bit disappointed. On the software side, the tablet features the best of both worlds: you have Windows 10 and Android 5.1 on the same device.

10.1 – inch IPS display
The Hi10 Pro comes with a 10.1-inch IPS display comes with a 1920 x 1200 resolution resulting in vivid color and crisp text. The display is also decently bright — and you can mess with the settings a bit to make it even brighter if needed.

Detachable magnetic docking keyboard
This particular model comes with a detachable magnetic docking keyboard, which is super easy to attach and is quite solid in its build and construction. The keys are nice to the touch and make even long working sessions quite relaxed — even though you are working on a tablet. On the negative side, it does seem quite a bit heavier than other similar keyboards and a few users have noted that the touchpad can be a bit jumpy at times. With that said, it is a more than decent offer for the price — consider that you are getting a dual-OS tablet with a keyboard for just a bit over $240.

6500mAh large battery capacity
The battery life on the Hi10 Pro is quite impressive. The 6500mAh battery guarantees 6-7 hours of normal usage — enough for getting in a decent amount of work with short breaks for game sessions. The tablet does come with fast charging — but it’s not quite as fast as one would expect: it takes 3 to 4 hours to charge the Hi10 Pro to full battery.

A nifty feature with the HiPro 10 is that the tablet uses a USB 3.0 Type-C for charging — so if you have one of the latest phones, you might as well carry one charging cable for both devices.
