Chuwi MiniBook 8″ Powerful Pocket Laptop preview
Since CHUWI MiniBook showed up at the Hong Kong Sourcing Fair and got a lot of attention, Chuwi, a ODM manufacturer based in Shenzhen, China, has recently revealed that this ultra-portable pocket laptop will be on pre-sale in the near future.
Below are the features of this UMPC:
– Ultra portable mini size, 360° YOGA design
– 8.0-inch IPS full laminated touch screen
– Intel® Core™ M3-8100Y processor/Intel® Celeron® N4100 processor
– 8GB dual-channel memory, 128GB storage space, support M.2 SSD & TF card expansion
– Narrow border full-size keyboard
– Full-featured Type-C port, support PD 2.0 fast charging and video/ data transmission
– Active heat dissipation system
We can see from the exposed design and specifications that Chuwi has put great efforts and cost in its first UMPC product. It is Chuwi’s first laptop carried with Intel® Core™ M3-8100Y processor and it is also the first batch of 8100Y notebooks that are on sale. As an upgraded version of 7Y30, 8100Y is built with more advanced 14nm++ technology, 4-cores 4-thread with turbo frequency at 3.4GHz. Furthermore, 8W TDF deign, UHD Graphics 615 GPU clocked at up to 900 MHz enhance its performance to a great extent.
In terms of storage, besides 8GB dual-channel memory and 128GB EMMC storage, MiniBook also comes with M.2 SSD and TF card expansion slot, which can be upgraded to TB-level storage space. Since the price of SSD declines, it is undoubtedly an excellent example for CHUWI MiniBook to provide M.2 port, so consumers can choose SSD on their own. Speaking of I/O ports, Chuwi MiniBook is equipped with full-featured Type-C that supports PD 2.0 fast charging and video/audio/data transmission. In addition, Mini-HDMI, USB 3.0, 3.5mm headphone jack and other ports are also available.
