Meet Hidizs MS5
HIDIZS MS5 IEMs adopts HIDIZS’s new customized 10mm liquid silicone dynamic driver to handle the mid-frequency and vocal parts. The body of this driver is Kevlar with a thickness of only 0.03mm, and the overhang is made of 0.45mm liquid silicone. It has excellent qualities of good elasticity, good transient, high sensitivity and quick response. All balanced armature drivers are from SONION, Denmark. Among them, the high frequency and ultra high frequency are handled by the top E50DT composite driver, the mid-high frequency is handled by the mid-high frequency driver 2389, and the low frequency is handled by the low frequency driver 17A003. MS5 Dark Angel driver configuration is 1DD+4BA total 5 drivers (1 Dynamic Driver, 4 Balanced Armature Drivers). It uses a three frequency crossover design to provide a clear, rich, full-bodied audio experience. In addition, MS5 also adopts HIDIZS exclusive “HIDIZS Pneumatic Sound Tuning Filter” technology, and comes standard with three tuning filters with different structures, namely: balanced-rose gold (suitable for pop and folk), high frequency-quiet silver (suitable for ACG and classic), low frequency-charm red (suitable for rock music and heavy metal). By changing different pneumatic sound tuning filters to enjoy different music styles, the playability is extremely high.
In terms of appearance, the cavity design of HIDIZS MS5 Dark Angel IEMs adopts a weight-reducing one-piece aluminum alloy design, which not only has strength but also maintains lightness. According to the physiological shape of the human ear, Hidizs redesigned the front cavity and sound tube of the MS5 IEMs according to the structure of the ear canal. It adopts a multi-curved surface design so that the entire cavity fits the contour of the human ear, making it comfortable to wear even for a long time. The panel of MS5 is made of skin-friendly resin material, and the weight is further reduced by the hollowing out process. Anodizing technology is used to improve the surface hardness of the cavity, making the panel smoother, reducing the residue of fingerprints, and further improving its texture and appearance.
HIDIZS MS5 Dark Angel IEMs is paired with a hybrid braided earphone cable consisting of a total of 504 strands of 6N single-crystal copper silver-plated wire and 6N single-crystal copper wire braided in an 8-core configuration. Single-crystal copper has the transmission characteristics of amorphousness, which makes the sound pure and delicate. The sound of single-crystal copper silver-plated wire is vivid and atmospheric, and the combination of the two is complementary. The external insulation layer of the cable is made of PVC material, which is overall black, transparent, soft and shiny. The 3.5mm audio plug is made of copper plated with gold, and it is grand and full of detail. MS5 Dark Angel IEMs also supports the replacement of audio cables, which adopt the standard 0.78mm 2-pin interface and are compatible with most earphone upgrade cables on the market, making it convenient for users to replace cables with different functions.
The MS5 is not harsh with vocals with decent weight and a natural tone that is far from sounding anemic or shrill. On the flip side of having a non-irritating tonality, vocal breaths get easily overtaken by more important parts. The MS5 continues to bring life to instruments that are kind of dull without overstepping boundaries. The MS5 has a calmness that wouldn’t sound rushed in an acoustic song adding a friendly timbre to each string being strummed. Chimes don’t get as much emphasis so plucks of strings that reverberate in the same direction overtake some ringing. Cymbals can sound a bit dry at times but overall, they have a pleasingly refined quality from the balanced armature configuration.
The Hidizs MS5 has exceptional bass quality and the bass response is definitely the standout feature of these IEMs, with a lovely texture and good weight. The leading edges are clean and well-defined, with a satisfying slam that is sure to get your attention. Fans of bass-heavy genres such as hip-hop or EDM will definitely appreciate the way the MS5 handles low frequencies. Fortunately, the vocal performance is still articulate and easy to discern. – Hidizs New Custom Liquid Silicone Dynamic Driver – Soft Hymn. MS5 is powered by Hidizs new custom 10mm liquid silicone dynamic driver. This is a sandwich injection molding process. Its body is Kevlar with a thickness of only 0.03mm, surrounded by liquid silicone of 0.45mm. Kevlar has ultra-high elasticity, combined with extremely thin liquid silicone to form a dynamic drive with good elasticity, good transient, high sensitivity and quick response. About Hidizs. Hidizs was founded early in 2009, when pocket HiFi had just become a thing. At that time, they were pricey and badly made. Digital music sucked in those days, but people didn’t really care. Tamson, the founder and the CEO of Hidizs, did care. He was an audiophile and fronted an underground rock band in college.
