Aluminum processing CNC technology of ELEPHONE S8
You may not know, the shiny frame of Elephone S8 uses aluminum processing CNC technology, which has 72 steps. The back cover is adopted 46 processes. It is light in your hand but extremely gorgeous.
We discussed one problem many times when we designed S8, and this discussion even kept until we made the final model. The problem is: whether using zinc alloy or aluminum alloy. There is a strong benefit for us to use zinc alloy–low cost. Maybe most of consumers can not identify the difference, but if you are professional at smartphone, then you may know: Zinc alloy has a heavy weight, low precision and easy to lose color. We were considering to surrender to the cheap zinc alloy. But in the end, we chose a different way with our peers, we still kept focus on giving our users the most high-quality and user-friendly products.
So we adopted aluminum processing CNC technology. It conforms more to our top industrial design concept. With this material, the signal of GPS and Bluetooth is more stable and accurate. Aluminium processing CNC technology makes S8 hard to lose color and 15g lighter than zinc alloy material. But the cost of this “15g” is 15 times higher.
We are glad to do such thing. From the marketing data, consumers like to spend more money on high-quality and more stable products, which proves that our belief is right.
