AUKEY Has the Perfect Peripherals for the New iPhone SE

Apple has announced the latest addition to its iPhone line-up, the iPhone SE. This is the spiritual successor to the ultra-compact 2016 iPhone SE, although in reality the new version shares much of its design with the iPhone 8. In a year of global economic woes there may not be much appetite for expensive flagships, so Apple has certainly chosen a good moment to release a cut-price device.

New iPhone SE

As a charging specialist, AUKEY always pays particular attention to the charging specs of the latest devices, and despite the budget price tag, new iPhone SE is right up there with Apple‘s flagship offerings in terms of how it charges.

Fast Charging
The new iPhone SE supports the same 18W Power Delivery fast charging as other recent iPhones, but since the battery of the SE is much smaller (only 1821mAh compared to the iPhone 11 Pro Max‘s 3960mAh), you‘ll find it fills up even more quickly. Given that Apple didn‘t even package the iPhone 11 with a fast charger, there‘s no chance that this budget model will come with anything other than the painfully slow 5W charger Apple has been using since the very first iPhone back in 2007. Luckily, AUKEY has no shortage of vastly superior alternatives.

Swift 18W
Given that the iPhone SE is aimed at cost-conscious consumers, it makes sense to pair it the current value king when it comes to PD fast charging. AUKEY‘s Swift 18W PD charger offers an unbeatable combination of power, size, weight, and cost. This compact charger gives you all the power you need to charge your iPhone at the maximum speed it supports, and all for under $20. This is nearly 50% cheaper than Apple‘s own 18W, and it‘s also smaller and lighter.

Minima 18W
And if the Swift 18W isn‘t small enough for you, you can try the similarly affordable Minima 18W. A lot of the appeal of the new iPhone SE is in its compact size, and at just 32mm at its widest point, PD chargers don‘t come any more compact than the Minima 18W. Despite its tiny size, it will still charge your new iPhone SE at maximum speed. Wirecutter ranked this charger as the best USB phone charger of 2020, and it‘s hard to think of a more suitable charger for the new SE.

Impulse Braided C-L
In order to enjoy 18W fast charging, iPhone SE users will need a USB-C to Lightning cable (Apple only provides this as standard with the top-tier iPhone 11 Pro Max). AUKEY has you covered here too, as the Impulse Braided C-L is designed specifically for fast-charging iPhones. The braided jacket gives it a quality feel, and MFi certification means you don‘t have to worry about seeing any error messages when connecting it to your Apple devices. Aside from fast charging, the other big advantage of this cable is it allows you to connect your iPhone directly to the USB-C port of a MacBook without needing any kind of adapter.

Wireless Charging
Despite its budget price point, the new iPhone SE supports wireless charging, a feature even some pricy flagships like the OnePlus 7 Pro don‘t offer. AUKEY has a range of options here too, all of which specifically support the 7.5W wireless charging that iPhones use. The entry model is the stylish Graphite Q Lite, with a minimalist look that matches Apple products well. There‘s also the weightier Graphite Q with its zinc alloy base, and the
Graphite Stand 10W, which allows you to watch videos on your device as it charges. The new iPhone SE is compatible with iPhone 8 cases, so at launch there is already a huge range of cases available. With each of the AUKEY wireless chargers mentioned above, there‘s no need to remove the case for wireless charging to work. Unless you‘re using an unusual case (e.g. particularly thick or made of metal), simply pop your new iPhone SE on the charger case and all, and it will be fully charged in no time.
