ColorOS 16: Elevating Your AI Experience
Technology serves you best when it feels like a natural extension of you. At OPPO, we envision a phone’s intelligence not as a set of features, but as a harmony—one that understands your needs and seamlessly integrates into your thoughts and creative flow. This has been our pursuit since ColorOS 14. With ColorOS 16, we take another meaningful step forward, delivering an intelligent experience that is more thoughtful, effortless, and reliable.
Bring Your Creativity to Life
With ColorOS 16, we’re bringing a full suite of AI imaging tools that turn complex editing into something beautifully simple. At the heart of it is AI Portrait Glow—designed to improve poorly lit portraits with a single tap. Using advanced skin-tone optimization, it produces more natural and balanced lighting in your photos.
AI Portrait Glow joins our powerful range of tools, like AI Eraser which lets you remove unwanted objects with one click, AI Unblur that restores clarity to moving subjects, AI Reflection Remover for clear shots through glass, and AI Clarity Enhancer which upscales low-resolution photos to stunning UHD quality.
The built-in video editor has been upgraded with Master Cut, offering trimming, speed controls, music integration, cropping, text, filters and manual adjustments for contrast, brightness and saturation.
Practical and Powerful: Smarter Efficiency
But ColorOS 16 is about far more than creativity. It’s also designed to elevate your productivity with practical AI tools. AI Recorder is now fully upgraded. While capturing audio, it transcribes in real time, recognizes different speakers, and labels each one clearly. When you’re done, it automatically generates a relevant title and a concise summary. You can even tailor the output by selecting a template suited to your needs, whether it’s a meeting, interview, or lecture. Need to share? Choose to send the full transcript, the summary, or just the audio. It’s like having a professional assistant right in your pocket.
Then there’s AI Writer, a system-level intelligent writing assistant designed to make writing easier across your device. Integrated into system apps like Notes and available in popular third-party apps like Instagram and Facebook, it helps with everyday tasks, from polishing emails and summarizing articles to generating creative social media captions or composing restaurant reviews. It can even bring structure to your ideas by instantly creating spreadsheets or mind maps, making it an essential tool for brainstorming and organizing thoughts visually.
AI Mind Space: Your Ideas, Perfectly Organized
We encounter so many articles, schedules, photos and messages every day—yet they often end up scattered across different apps, making them hard to find when we need them most. With AI Mind Space, we’ve evolved a place where your thoughts can come together intelligently. Just swipe up with three fingers or tap the Snap Key on Find X9 Series, and instantly, what’s on your screen is saved directly into your Mind Space. But not just saved—quietly organized, related items grouped together and scattered fragments tidied into a curated collection.
It goes further. When you point your camera at something like a concert poster, AI Mind Space can scan it directly through the viewfinder, no need to even take a photo. It instantly detects key details like the event date and time and gently suggests adding them to your calendar. No more switching between apps, no manual typing. What used to take multiple steps is now done in one simple tap.
And when inspiration strikes in a moment, a thought, a quote, or a sudden idea, just hold the Snap Key. Talk naturally, and your words are saved and sorted. No typing, no fuss. This is more than a feature. It’s like giving your mind room to run—and your ideas a place to grow.
Smarter Plans, Made For You: Mind Space Meets Gemini
Travel planning should be exciting, not overwhelming. But between booking flights, choosing hotels, and picking sights to see, it’s easy to get lost in endless tabs and notes.
To unlock AI Mind Space’s full potential, OPPO has partnered with Google to connect the Mind Space app with Gemini. This allows Gemini to now pull together content from Mind Space and help users take action. For example, a user planning a trip can save articles and notes to their Mind Space, then ask Gemini to create a detailed itinerary using the content that has been saved. It’s a personalized itinerary tailored just for you.
With ColorOS 16, AI is woven into the entire experience. It works across imaging, productivity, and personal assistance, turning complex tasks into simple, intuitive interactions. This is OPPO’s approach to AI: integrated, practical, personalized and always designed to empower your life.
