Hybrid driver setups have been there for a long time now. Brands have done extensive R&D to achieve a highly coherent and immersive sound by using different types of drivers in a set. The ddHiFi Surface packs such a setup as well. We have a five-driver hybrid setup per side on the “Surface”, featuring a high-quality dynamic driver along with four high-performance balanced armature drivers. The driver module here is optimized from various previous models from Moondrop. They utilize a professionally designed three-way crossover featuring both physical as well as electronic crossover to achieve a smooth, balanced sound profile. We have a 3D printed acoustic chamber that includes physical acoustic tubes going from the drivers to the nozzle. It is combined with a professionally designed electronic crossover board.
