I’ve installed this update by copying the zip file on a USB drive, then I started the box in recovery mode by pressing the hidden button inside the AV plug before connecting the AC plug.
The update installed ok, the Android security patch level remain the same as the old firmwares (August 2018).
But there is an annoying watermark message at the center of the screen that say: “The device is not manufactured by the equipment manufacturer, please contact:PM@amediatech.cn”
I found two alternative firmwares that works fine too on the X96 mini box with S905W (at least on my version of the box).
The first is PoisonATV 4.9 for S905W CPU, it’s AndroidTV 7.1.2 (not the regular Android like this firmware, AndroidTV works better with the remote control than the mouse).

Another firmware I found is AndroidTV 9.0 but it’s in Russian language, you can change to your language but many apps are in Russian only
