Why does this version say S805_MXPRO_AP6212_20160102-kodi15.2-588 and not
S905_MXPRO_AP6212_20160102-kodi15.2-588 is trhe “S805” just a typing error?
I don’t know, I got it written like this, it should be a typing error, we don’t have the box to check this out…
You tell us and we do the necessary corrections… 🙂
Are these firmware files correct there names would suggest there for an s905 chip?
Sorry I meant to say they look like they should be for an s805 chip
Well Ive tried flashing nearly every other firmware for this device to get to run smoothly after the out of the box version keept crashing and finaly wouldn’t boot.
I have managed to flash a working image (aml_upgrade_package_s905_20151029.img)
Using usb burning tool and I found a zip download which contains nesecary licence files otherwise “get key failed”
Occours. But when trying to flash this image I get a new error rom image number or something similar which would suggest this is an INNCORRECT image file for s805 chips.
I’ve also tried flashing some of the firmware with zip files as apposed to img filesfiles, first flashing a working image and then using update/backup app to run update zip: (p201-ota-20160118.zip) this did run it course with the green android bootloader flashing process which ended with a black screen. Now wether it was doing something which I couldn’t see but after leaving it for maybe 10mins I unplugged devices and nothing, no av output when powering up just blank screen, a hard brick I think. I was only able to get usb burning tool to recognise device by shorting some legs on a NAD chip on board so I was able to flash it againagain. there is a YouTube video which highlights it, search unbrick mxq s905 and watch to end for NAD shorting information
Looking for a firmware for MXQRK29 for my tv box
Good luck!
