I have Mekool KII Pro Amlogic S905 , I try to Re-Flash new firmware from Android 5.1.1 Lollipo , Android 7.1.1 Nougat , I did right follow your step but unfortunately the device not boot, I try several method,
⦁ either .zip file from OTA local update or use
⦁ .img file from Amlogic usb burning tool did not success , it show error message . 🙁
⦁ E:failed to mount /data (Invalid argument)
⦁ can’t mount ‘/data’ (Invalid argument)

You need flash old firmware 905 cpu suports 5.1.1 os maximun 905d suports 7.1.2. you ned try fw download tool and USB male-to-male cable. if your box led blinks and dont starts you have damaged tuner. you need dissassebly it an phisicalu remove tuner PCB it will be damageg
