DUNU Launches PRS6 1DD+4BA+1MEMS Hybrid IEMs
DUNU is among the pioneer brands in the industry when it comes to HiFi in-ear monitors. We are super excited to announce their latest launch and share this beauty with you all, introducing the DUNU PRS6. Standing for “Pro Response Sound,” the PRS6 is purpose-built from the ground up to solve the long-standing challenge of achieving lightning-fast transient response and expansive spatial headroom without introducing treble fatigue. DUNU achieves this breakthrough by premiering an advanced six-driver tribrid array, combining a custom 10mm dynamic driver, four high-performance balanced armatures, and a cutting-edge silicon-based passive MEMS ultra-high-frequency driver. Yes, the DUNU PRS6 is the brand’s first hybrid IEM with the innovative MEMS driver technology. Wrapped in a stunning resin material shell with a pure titanium face panel featuring an ice crystal texture design, the PRS6 sets a thrilling new benchmark for resolving power and acoustic refinement in its class. DUNU PRS6 is officially launched at an exciting price of just $249, feel free to check out more details here.
As mentioned previously, DUNU has equipped the PRS6 with a sophisticated 6-driver hybrid setup on each side. It includes one 10mm custom-developed dynamic driver, two dual-BA arrays, and one exclusive MEMS tweeter. These drivers are arranged together using a precise physical and electronic 4-way crossover network designed to ensure flawless coherence across the entire audible spectrum.
Lower registers are anchored by a custom-engineered 10mm dynamic driver that delivers deep, authoritative sub-bass rumble and rich mid-bass punch, setting a solid foundation for dynamic tracks. For the critical vocal band, DUNU incorporates a dual-BA setup that reproduces voices and fundamental instruments with natural body, warmth, and pinpoint imaging. An additional dual-BA cluster takes over the mid-to-high frequencies, ensuring exceptional separation, crisp note attack, and intricate micro-layering with absolute zero compromises.
Where the PRS6 truly pulls ahead of traditional hybrid IEMs is in the ultra-high frequency domain. Instead of relying solely on conventional tweeters, DUNU has integrated a next-generation silicon-based passive MEMS driver. Because it operates on a solid-state, micro-machined diaphragm without the moving mass of a standard voice coil or permanent magnet, it responds instantaneously to transient spikes. This allows the PRS6 to render microscopic harmonic overtones, airy treble decay, and expansive three-dimensional staging with laser-sharp precision and near-zero phase distortion.
Beyond its acoustic engine, DUNU has given equal attention to ergonomics and long-term durability. The faceplates are precision-machined from pure titanium and finished with an intricate ice crystal texture that catches the light beautifully, lending a boutique, heirloom feel to each earpiece. The lightweight, ergonomically molded inner cavities ensure a secure, fatigue-free fit with deep passive noise isolation. To make pairing effortless with different sources, the pair comes with a high-purity stock cable featuring DUNU’s patented Q-Lock Mini quick-switch modular plug system. The package includes 3.5mm single-ended and 4.4mm balanced plugs for easy swapping.
DUNU PRS6 marks the new generation of hybrid in-ear monitors for DUNU. With this launch, they are widening their presence in the industry into the realm of solid-state MEMS driver hybrid sets. With its advanced configuration and the exceptional PRS tuning profile, DUNU PRS6 is an interesting new release.
