Elecrow’s New 10.1-Inch Home Assistant Control Panel Is Ready to Use

A good smart home should make everyday controls easier to reach, yet even an advanced Home Assistant installation can become unnecessarily inconvenient when switching on a light, adjusting the temperature or checking an energy dashboard requires finding a phone and opening an application. Elecrow’s new 10.1-inch Smart Home Control Panel addresses that problem with a permanent wall-mounted touchscreen that connects directly to an existing Home Assistant server and keeps the most important devices, scenes and automations available in one familiar place.

Unlike development-oriented displays that require custom firmware, interface design and extensive configuration before becoming useful, this panel arrives with Home Assistant firmware already installed. After connecting it to Wi-Fi and linking it to the existing Home Assistant system, users can access the dashboards, cards, entities, scenes and controls they have already created, without building and maintaining a separate HMI application. Changes made within Home Assistant should therefore be reflected on the panel as well, making it a natural extension of the current smart home rather than another isolated ecosystem.

The front is dominated by a 10.1-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1024 × 600 pixels and capacitive touch control, providing enough space to present lighting groups, climate information, security sensors, energy statistics and frequently used scenes without making the interface feel cramped. Its wall-mounted format makes the panel particularly suitable for an entrance hall, kitchen, living room or utility area, where it can become a shared control point that remains accessible to everyone in the home, including family members who may not have the Home Assistant application installed on their phones.

Underneath the interface is Elecrow’s CrowPanel Advanced platform, powered by an ESP32-P4 dual-core RISC-V processor intended to deliver smooth and responsive HMI performance. Wi-Fi 6 provides the connection to the local Home Assistant server, while Bluetooth 5.3 expands its potential within connected environments. The panel does not include a camera, which may actually be an advantage for users who want a permanently installed touchscreen in a private living space without adding an unnecessary imaging sensor.

Elecrow has also integrated two speakers and a microphone, preparing the hardware for interactive functions and possible future voice-control applications. Connectivity and expansion remain important parts of the design, with GPIO, UART and I²C interfaces, USB-C, an SD card slot and support for an optional wireless module, giving more advanced users room to experiment beyond the panel’s ready-to-use Home Assistant role.

In everyday use, the panel could serve as a central interface for lighting and scenes, temperature and climate monitoring, security sensors, household energy consumption, solar production or EV charging. The larger display should be especially useful for visual dashboards that combine live values, historical graphs and several controls, offering a clearer overview than a compact smartphone screen while remaining considerably more discreet than a computer monitor.

The new Elecrow 10.1-inch Smart Home Control Panel for Home Assistant is ultimately appealing because it removes much of the development work normally associated with an ESP32-based wall display. It retains the flexibility and local-control philosophy that make Home Assistant attractive, but packages them inside a dedicated touchscreen that can be connected, configured and placed within easy reach. For users who already rely on Home Assistant and want a clean, permanent control point rather than another phone or repurposed tablet, this could be one of Elecrow’s most practical smart home products yet.
