2018 means a lot to the brand ELEPHONE. ELEPHONE was thoughtfully invested by government when they finally had the investment to produce the smartphone that they wanted, achieving their smartphone dream. Also, they have enough fund to get high-end chipset, which means a lot to them. We interviewed the CEO Mr. JI. He said he was dreaming of making a smartphone in which there is a full-screen surface. Finally, he could achieve that through the production of ELEPHONE U and U Pro.
Design
About the design of ELEPHONE U and U Pro, they had many schemes— from the iPhone X’s notch display to tri-bezel-less display. Finally, we chose this design. The reason behind is that this kind of full screen can achieve to some extent the immersive experience at the two sides; and about the top and bottom side, we’ll try our best to make it thinner, so that the experience can reach the extremes. To satisfy the full-screen vision at the front side, designers put the fingerprint sensor to the back, which is at the 1/3 place at the back. About the back, as the tradition of ELEPHONE, we also designed it as an artwork, not only a phone. The back of this phone equipps a shiny lumia glass cover. Under the sunlight, you can see the beautiful light stream. Our designers team has chosen four colors for this model. This is the first color of this phone. But designers finally gave up this color, because it lacks elegance and noble sense. Then, designers use the darker color to make the back more like the gem.
Display
About the display of ELEPHONE U and U Pro. ELEPHONE really created many elements in it. First of all, it uses flexible display which can change the shape free. Below is the picture of its display. This display comes from BOE, the second company to produce flexible screen after Samsung. And now, its output reaches the global top. BOE’s flexible screen is AMOLED display, which is sharper and clearer than normal LCD display. In fact, about the display, BOE is the most expensive one. But expensive cost equals with high quality. Finally, ELEPHONE made it. 18:9 aspect ratio already becomes the trend now, which is more helpful for one-hand operation. There is definitely no doubts to choose 18:9 aspect ratio. About the wide of the black space between display and frame. It only 6.5mm, which achieves the true high aspect ratio.We designed it as the curved display which the right and left sides are curved, while you can touch it on the curved area. To protect the display, designers choose Corning Gorilla glass 5 cover.
Hardware & Software
About the choosing of CPU, ELEPHONE decided to choose Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 CPU for its first choice to enter the Qualcomm platform. Also, Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 is the most praised chipset for Qualcomm. The performance is stable while the speed is fast. That is why we choose SD660 as ELEPHONE U Pro’s chipset. While ELEPHONE U uses the MTK P23 chipset, which can make the phone performance well but cheaper than U Pro. About Software, we cooperate with ArcSoft team, which is the largest camera algorithm company. The bokeh effect can achieve the F0.8 aperture image effect. UI of U Pro is based on the Android 8.0 system. Before the one week of releasing, the software was still in changing and optimizing. We can make sure it will be a perfect UI. Producing a high-end smartphone is not easy. But there are only a few people can do the hard path. ELEPHONE is a brand to have the courage to face the challenge.
