GMKtec K17 Plus: 115 TOPS AI Mini PC with Core Ultra 7 258V

GMKtec is expanding its compact desktop portfolio with the new GMKtec K17 Plus, a powerful Mini PC built around Intel’s latest Core Ultra platform and designed to deliver a much more ambitious level of performance than its small dimensions might suggest. At the center of the system is the Intel Core Ultra 7 258V processor, paired with integrated Intel Arc 140V graphics, 32GB of high-speed LPDDR5X memory running at 8533 MT/s, dual M.2 storage expansion and an extensive connectivity package that includes USB4, 2.5GbE networking, Wi-Fi 6E and support for multiple high-resolution displays. Measuring just 127.5 × 127 × 44.5 mm and weighing approximately 460 grams, the K17 Plus is designed as a genuinely compact desktop machine, yet GMKtec has managed to fit hardware inside that places it much closer to a modern productivity workstation than a basic office Mini PC. The combination of Intel’s efficient Lunar Lake architecture, fast memory, powerful integrated graphics and dedicated AI acceleration makes the K17 Plus particularly interesting for users looking for a system capable of handling everyday computing, development, media work, AI-assisted applications and entertainment without requiring a traditional tower PC.

Intel Core Ultra 7 258V at the Heart of the K17 Plus
The most important component of the GMKtec K17 Plus is undoubtedly the Intel Core Ultra 7 258V, an 8-core, 8-thread processor capable of reaching frequencies of up to 4.8GHz. Intel designed this generation around a more integrated approach to computing, combining CPU performance, an increasingly capable GPU and dedicated neural processing hardware in the same platform.

For the K17 Plus, this means the system is equipped not simply for conventional productivity workloads, but also for a growing category of applications that can make direct use of local AI acceleration. GMKtec advertises a combined AI capability of up to 115 TOPS, bringing the Mini PC into the new generation of AI-focused Windows systems where tasks such as image processing, content enhancement, transcription, background effects and other machine-learning workloads can increasingly be handled locally rather than relying exclusively on cloud processing.

The processor can also operate through three selectable power modes of 20W, 25W and 35W, giving users additional control over the balance between performance, temperature, power consumption and acoustic output. A lighter office workload may not require maximum power, while sustained processing or more demanding graphics tasks can benefit from the higher performance profile.

Intel Arc 140V Graphics Bring a Major Integrated GPU Upgrade
Graphics performance is another major part of the K17 Plus specification, with Intel’s Arc 140V integrated GPU featuring eight Xe cores.

Modern integrated graphics have progressed considerably beyond their traditional role of simply driving office monitors, and the Arc 140V is designed to provide enough GPU performance for multimedia acceleration, creative applications, high-resolution video playback and lighter gaming workloads without the need for a discrete graphics card.

This architecture also complements the system’s AI capabilities, since modern applications increasingly distribute workloads between the CPU, GPU and NPU depending on the type of processing being performed. As a result, the K17 Plus can use its compact hardware more intelligently across content creation, media processing and AI-assisted software rather than depending on CPU resources alone.

For users wanting a small desktop system capable of handling several demanding applications simultaneously, the Core Ultra 7 258V and Arc 140V combination is one of the main reasons the K17 Plus stands out from conventional low-power Mini PCs.

32GB LPDDR5X at an Impressive 8533 MT/s
GMKtec complements the new Intel platform with 32GB of LPDDR5X memory operating at 8533 MT/s, providing the high bandwidth required by both the processor and integrated graphics subsystem.

That bandwidth is particularly important in a system using integrated graphics, because the GPU shares system memory instead of relying on dedicated VRAM. Faster LPDDR5X therefore benefits not only conventional application performance, but also graphics workloads and multitasking.

With 32GB available as standard, the K17 Plus is well positioned for demanding browser workloads, large productivity suites, development environments, virtualized applications, media creation and modern AI-assisted software, while avoiding the memory limitations that can quickly become noticeable on smaller 8GB or 16GB Mini PC configurations.

Dual M.2 Storage with Capacity up to 16TB
Despite its compact dimensions, the GMKtec K17 Plus provides dual M.2 storage expansion, with the platform supporting configurations of up to 16TB in total.

For a Mini PC, this is an important advantage because it allows the K17 Plus to be configured not only as a conventional system drive plus secondary storage arrangement, but also as a compact workstation capable of holding substantial local libraries of photos, videos, software projects and other large datasets.

A dual-drive configuration can also help users separate the operating system and applications from project files or archive storage, making the machine considerably more flexible than Mini PCs restricted to a single internal SSD.

Triple Display Support and Output up to 8K at 60Hz
The K17 Plus is equally ambitious when it comes to display connectivity, supporting three simultaneous displays and offering one video output capable of reaching 8K at 60Hz.

At the rear, one HDMI connection supports HDMI 2.1 FRL with output up to 8K at 60Hz, while a second HDMI interface supports HDMI 2.1 TMDS up to 4K at 60Hz. The full-function USB4 connection provides another route for high-resolution video output and modern docking configurations.

This multi-monitor capability makes the K17 Plus especially suitable for productivity environments, programming, financial applications, control dashboards and content creation setups where additional desktop space can have a significant impact on workflow efficiency.

The ability to drive an 8K display also demonstrates the capabilities of Intel’s latest integrated graphics and media engine, even if many users will ultimately operate the K17 Plus with more conventional 4K dual- or triple-monitor configurations.

USB4 with 40Gbps Connectivity and 100W Power Delivery Input
One of the most useful ports on the front of the K17 Plus is the full-function USB4 interface, capable of delivering bandwidth of up to 40Gbps.

USB4 significantly expands what can be connected to such a small computer, including high-speed external storage, docks, monitors and other high-bandwidth peripherals. The interface also supports 100W Power Delivery input, adding another layer of flexibility to the system’s power and docking possibilities.

Alongside USB4, the front panel provides a USB 3.2 Gen 2 port operating at up to 10Gbps, another USB 3.2 Gen 1 port rated at 5Gbps, a 3.5mm CTIA audio connection, illuminated power button and dedicated reset control.

The arrangement is particularly convenient for peripherals that are frequently connected and removed, while the more permanent desktop connections remain concentrated at the rear.

Extensive Rear Connectivity for a Complete Desktop Setup
The back of the K17 Plus reinforces the idea that this machine is intended to function as a full desktop rather than a stripped-down compact computer.

Its rear connectivity includes additional USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports, a USB 2.0 connection, the dual HDMI outputs, DC power input and an RJ45 Ethernet interface. With several USB ports distributed across both the front and rear panels, the system can accommodate keyboards, mice, external SSDs, controllers, capture hardware and other accessories without immediately requiring an external USB hub.

The inclusion of multiple high-speed USB connections is particularly useful for users who plan to use the K17 Plus for creative or technical applications where large amounts of data regularly need to move between external devices and internal storage.

2.5GbE and Wi-Fi 6E for High-Speed Networking
Networking is another area where GMKtec has avoided limiting the K17 Plus to basic specifications. The Mini PC combines 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet with Wi-Fi 6E, making it suitable for both high-speed wired networks and modern wireless environments.

The 2.5GbE connection is particularly valuable when transferring large files to NAS systems, working with shared media libraries or using the K17 Plus in a home lab or development environment, while Wi-Fi 6E provides additional flexibility for installations where a wired Ethernet connection is not practical.

For a compact system equipped with dual internal SSDs and potentially several terabytes of storage, faster networking is a logical addition, ensuring that network performance does not become an unnecessary bottleneck when moving large datasets.

A Mini PC Built for the New AI PC Era
The most interesting aspect of the GMKtec K17 Plus may ultimately be how many modern PC technologies GMKtec has managed to combine inside such a small enclosure.

The Intel Core Ultra 7 258V, Arc 140V graphics, 115 TOPS of total AI performance, 32GB LPDDR5X 8533 MT/s memory, dual M.2 storage, USB4 and high-resolution multi-display support create a system that is capable of serving far more demanding roles than the dimensions of the chassis would initially suggest.

It can function as a powerful everyday desktop for browsing, office applications and communication, but the hardware also gives it the potential to become a compact development station, media creation machine, AI experimentation platform or home-office workstation.

Intel’s latest platform is particularly well suited to this form factor because its performance, graphics and AI processing capabilities are integrated into a relatively efficient architecture, allowing Mini PC manufacturers to deliver considerably more capability without dramatically increasing chassis size.

Compact Hardware Without a Compact Feature Set
At approximately 460 grams, the GMKtec K17 Plus remains small enough to disappear almost entirely from a modern workstation, yet its connectivity and hardware specifications are anything but minimal.

The three configurable power modes give users control over how aggressively the processor operates, dual M.2 storage creates room for substantial local capacity, 32GB of fast LPDDR5X supports heavy multitasking, USB4 delivers workstation-class peripheral connectivity, 2.5GbE and Wi-Fi 6E provide fast networking, while triple-display support makes the system practical for serious productivity.

This balance between physical size and functionality is exactly where modern Mini PCs have become increasingly compelling. Instead of being secondary machines intended only for simple tasks, systems such as the K17 Plus can now replace considerably larger desktops for many users.

GMKtec K17 Plus: Desktop AI Power in Your Palm
The GMKtec K17 Plus represents another clear example of how rapidly the Mini PC category is evolving. Built around the Intel Core Ultra 7 258V and Arc 140V architecture, it combines strong CPU performance, significantly improved integrated graphics and modern AI acceleration with the storage, connectivity and display capabilities expected from a fully featured desktop computer.

Its 32GB LPDDR5X 8533 MT/s memory, dual M.2 storage support up to 16TB, 115 TOPS AI capability, USB4 40Gbps interface, 2.5GbE networking, Wi-Fi 6E, selectable 20W, 25W and 35W operating modes and support for three displays with output up to 8K at 60Hz give the K17 Plus an unusually comprehensive specification for a system measuring only 127.5 × 127 × 44.5 mm.

For users who want a compact Windows PC without giving up modern connectivity, fast storage, powerful integrated graphics or next-generation AI capabilities, the GMKtec K17 Plus looks like one of the brand’s most capable Mini PCs yet, delivering genuine desktop-class versatility in a machine small enough to fit comfortably in the palm of your hand.
