HiFi Leaks: Lotoo PAW S1
Back in 2019 during the Tokyo Headphone Festival, Lotoo unveiled one of their juiciest projects they were working on known as the PAW S1.
From what many had gathered, it is a high end USB dongle DAC that can be used across several devices while remaining highly portable. It features a USB-C port along with a standard 3.5mm single ended out, and to everyone’s surprise a 4.4mm balanced Pentaconn port. One can only wonder how much power this little device is capable of driving to offer Pentaconn support. Not only this but it also features an onboard DSP.
Recent Facebook pictures were posted showing a more completed version of the prototype in use with the OLED display showing two DSP Profiles, Game & Movie. Meeting up with the likes of the Musiland MU2/3, Audioquest Dragonfly series, Creative SXFI Amp, & Cozoy Takt C/Pro, the PAW S1 could compete against high end dongles that can be used in portable multimedia and mobile gaming setups.
The Lotoo PAW S1 looks like a rather capable device and we will be looking forward to hearing more as the launch date closes in some time soon this Q1 (2020).
