Huawei Hongmeng OS (Harmony OS) was officially released on HDC
At Huawei‘s HDC (Global developer Conference) on August 9, Huawei officially released its own Hongmeng operating system, known in English as HarmonyOS, which is a full-scene distributed OS system based on microkernel. It has the advantages of distributed architecture, natural fluency, core security and ecological sharing.
Huawei pointed out that the current OS system can no longer meet the needs. Take Android as an example, its code has been huge and redundant for many years, and it is difficult to guarantee the smooth experience of different terminals. Android code has exceeded 100 million lines. The Android Linux kernel also has 20 million lines of code, of which only 8% of the core code is invoked frequently.
In addition, at present, there are more and more connected terminal systems, which put forward higher requirements for security, software ecology, user experience and so on. For this reason, Huawei has built Hongmeng OS (Harmony OS) system.
Features and highlights
● Distributed Architecture is used for the first time in Terminal OS, to realize Seamless Cooperative experience across Terminal
● It is determined that the system is inherently smooth with delay engine and high performance IPC technology.
● Reshaping trusted Security of Terminal Devices based on Micro-Kernel Architecture.
● Through unified IDE to support one-time development, multi-terminal deployment, to achieve cross-terminal ecological sharing.
