The iBasso PB6 Macaw: Portable Tube Powerhouse
The star of the announcement is the all-new iBasso PB6 Macaw. An advanced high-power amplifier that packs the lush, organic texture of vacuum tubes in a portable design. Equipped with four JAN6418 military-grade vacuum tubes in a fully balanced, four-channel configuration, the PB6 Macaw promises a rich, musical tone with a strong output thrust. Its operation is not limited to only Tubes; the Amplifier has dual operating modes: Tube and Class AB Transistor mode. As mentioned earlier, the Tube mode utilizes quad-tube architecture for a lush and musical tone; the Class AB mode adopts four BUF634A OP-Amps for high-resolution transistor-based amplification. Both modes have their own unique taste and flavor for the audiophiles.
iBasso PB6 Macaw offers further sound customization to the users with its Tunable Bandwidth function. The High-Bandwidth mode offers fast transients and dynamics, and the Low-Bandwidth mode delivers a smooth, classic tube flavour. Equipped with the NJW1195A 4-channel volume IC, the iBasso PB6 Macaw achieves perfect channel balance even on low volume levels. The iBasso PB6 Macaw is a powerhouse with a high-voltage battery for portable use and a dedicated 12V DC-In for extra power punch. With the DC-In, the PB6 Macaw reaches a power output of about 2300mW per channel at 32Ω impedance load. It can easily drive full-size demanding headphones without breaking a sweat. It has both 3.5mm and 4.4mm input and output ports; users can pair their favourite source and transducer with the PB6 Macaw easily.
iBasso CB19C: The Power-Splitter Interconnect Cable
Alongside the PB6 Macaw, iBasso has also released a specialized USB Type-C power splitter cable for their high-performance DAC/AMPs, introducing the iBasso CB19C. It’s a Type-C to Type-C power and data cable with independent connection points for Data and Power connections. This isn’t any standard OTG cable; it’s a top-quality cable crafted using high-purity silver-plated oxygen-free copper(OFC) cable. It is designed to solve the power limitations often found in modern smartphones.
With separate paths for data and power, your DAC draws clean current from an external power bank rather than your phone’s noisy output. By providing a stable, high-current source like a powerbank, high-end dongles like DC-Elite or DC07 Pro deliver better sound performance with tighter bass, improved dynamics, open staging, and cleaner background. Since the DAC/AMP with the CB19C gets external power, users can enjoy high-fidelity audio for long hours without draining the phone’s battery.
