Lenovo has been named to the 2020 Bloomberg Gender Equality Index (GEI) and received a perfect score of 100 percent on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2020 Corporate Equality Index (CEI).

Lenovo is one of 325 companies across 50 industries to be featured in the Bloomberg GEI this year, which tracks the financial performance of global, committed to supporting gender equality through policy development, representation, and transparency. The reference index measures gender equality across five pillars: female leadership and talent pipeline, equal pay and gender pay parity, inclusive culture, sexual harassment policies, and pro-women brand.

Lenovo’s efforts in satisfying all the criteria for the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s CEI earned the company the recognition as a Best Place to Work for LGBTQ Equality alongside the 100 percent ranking. The CEI showcases companies that promote LGBTQ-friendly workplace policies in the evaluating companies based on the categories of non-discrimination policies, employment benefits, organizational competency and accountability, public commitment, and responsible citizenship.

“As the company continues to grow, we’ve been on this journey of establishing a culture of inclusivity that welcomes everyone who walks through the door at Lenovo,” says Yolanda Lee Conyers, Chief Diversity Officer and President of the Lenovo Foundation. “This recognition is proof that our infrastructure fosters the right environment for attracting and retaining the top talent that’s required to be truly innovative and to achieve our vision of providing smarter technology for all.”

In its latest diversity and inclusion report, Lenovo reports a global employee base of over 57,000 employees, around the world, with women comprising 36 percent of the workforce. Women currently represent 18.5 percent of global executive positions within the company. Lenovo is progressing toward a goal of achieving 20 percent global women executives by the year 2020 through programs like the Women’s Leadership Development Program, dedicated to advancing high-potential females through professional development training.

Lenovo offers progressive benefits to employees, including Gender Transition Support through medical, mental health, and pharmacy policies. In 2019, Lenovo announced a new U.S.-based LGBTQ employee resource group (ERG) “PRIDE” – Professionals Respecting Identity, Diversity and Empowerment, which recently expanded to new chapters in Latin American countries. Lenovo ERGs in the U.S. and Slovakia are regular participants in corporate and local events around LGBTQ celebrations.
