Moondrop DiscDream 2 & DiscDream 2 Ultra Portable CD Players Launched
Last year, Moondrop Ventured into the CD Player realm with its first-ever portable CD Player, the Moondrop DiscDream. The demand for the DiscDream was huge and it became an instant successful product for the brand. Following in the same footsteps, Moondrop has did an extensive R&D in the field to bring us the second generation of the portable CD Player, introducing the Moondrop DiscDream 2 series. We mentioned the series here as the DiscDream 2 series has two products, the DiscDream 2 and the DiscDream 2 Ultra. Equipped with top-quality hardware, both the devices pack extra-ordinary performance as a portable CD Player. The DiscDream 2 Ultra has got dual DAC, a four-channel amplification circuit, Balanced headphone output support, Seven High-Performance Linear Power Chips, and a CNC-machined chassis with a clamshell design. Moondrop DiscDream 2
The second generation of DiscDream from Moondrop packs a professional-grade CD Playback architecture. From imported Laser head to high-quality chips that maintain a stable and uniform rotation speed, the Moondrop DiscDream 2 has professional-grade CD player components in a portable form factor. It has a double shock absorption design featuring an electronic buffer and elastic-damping physical buffer. The DiscDream 2 allows you to enjoy proper CD Playback on the go. Moondrop combines the traditional CD Playback functionality with modern looks on the DiscDream 2. It has got this modern color contrast and has a classic Flip-open design with a transparent top cover. We have physical media playback control keys. The DiscDream 2 has dual 3.5mm output ports, one is for headphone connections while the other provides digital or analog line-out functions. It also has a small display screen that shows different playback settings such as active track number, battery, playback time, etc. Moondrop has designed the DiscDream 2 with premium HiFi audio circuitry. Including a high-end CS43131 MasterHiFi DAC chipset and an independent dual-channel headphone amplifier function, the DiscDream 2 promises true high-resolution audio signal processing. You can also use the DiscDream 2 as a DAC with Laptop or PC. It supports 32Bit/384kHz PCM and native DSD256 audio signal processing while used as a DAC.
Moondrop DiscDream 2 has an output power rating of 124mW or 2VRMS, it is good enough for different IEMs and earbuds or even for some low-power requiring headphones. Moondrop DiscDream 2 Ultra
As you might guess from the name here, Moondrop DiscDream 2 Ultra, is the flagship CD Player from the Moondrop’s lineup. This one has the same CD Player architecture featuring imported high-performance chips for uniform and stable rotation speed, dual-level shock absorption, and a professional-grade laser head. The primary upgrade with the Ultra model is that the DiscDream 2 Ultra packs a dual-DAC setup and has balanced headphone connectivity as well. It has two high-end Cirrus Logics 32-bit MasterHiFI DAC chips and a four-channel independent amplifier section(the DiscDream 2 has 1 DAC and a 2-channel amplifier). The DiscDream 2 Ultra has a CNC-machined all-aluminium body with a clamshell design on the top cover. It looks more premium and exquisite.
Along with single-ended 3.5mm connection ports, the DiscDream 2 Ultra also has a 4.4mm balanced headphone connection port. It has cleaner output with more dynamic range available. The DiscDream 2 Ultra has seven linear power supply chips for cleaner power to different components.
