Moondrop Starfield 3: Third Time’s the Charm

For dedicated music listeners, Moondrop is reimagining a classic. The new Starfield 3 departs from its predecessors’ single-driver setup and introduces an advanced dual-dynamic driver architecture. It packs a 10mm natural wood-dome dynamic driver for rich, full-bodied bass with a custom 7.8mm Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) dome tweeter for fast transients and airy, fatigue-free highs. These drivers are perfectly integrated using a precision 3D-printed acoustic waveguide and a dedicated electronic crossover, achieving an ultra-low total harmonic distortion of ≤0.2%.
Visually, the Starfield 3 retains the series’ signature aesthetic, boasting an ergonomic shell coated in colour-shifting iridescent paint and finished with delicate gold-printed starry accents. Moondrop has also heavily upgraded the out-of-the-box connectivity. The IEMs ship with a high-purity silver-crystal copper cable featuring 0.78mm 2-pin connectors and three swappable modular plugs: 3.5mm, 4.4mm balanced, and USB-C.
When connected via USB-C, users unlock a built-in sound card with a massive 32-band visual PEQ to surgically tailor their sound signature using the Moondrop Link and web-based applications. With a highly efficient 7.7Ω impedance and 119dB/Vrms sensitivity, the Starfield 3 is designed to be easily driven by everything from modern smartphones to high-end digital audio players.
