Posted in Mar 2, 2019 in News, no comment

As an annual event in the field of smart phones, the annual MWC exhibition is the best stage for manufacturers to show their products. Obviously, under the leadership of the keywords of 5G and folding screen, MWC 2019 seems to be more lively than previous MWC exhibitions. What new products have emerged? Let’s have a look.

Many manufacturers have taken the lead in their home-keeping skills. At present, these technologies seem to be future technologies. However, for the rapidly changing smart and mobile industry, the standard configuration in the next year may be fixed at this moment, which will have a profound impact on our smart experience.

Huawei: Mate X may be the fastest 5G folding screen smartphone in the world
As one of the leaders in the field of smart phones, Huawei announced the release of its first 5G folding screen product before the launch of MWC 2019. On MWC 2019, we saw this 5G folding screen mobile phone called Huawei Mate X. The maximum turning angle is 180 degrees. At the same time, the thickness control of the whole machine is very reasonable, even in the state of closing the screen, it is only 11 mm.

In terms of screen size, Huawei Mate X is folded to 6.6 inches and 6.38 inches, respectively, and unfolded to 8 inches. Thanks to this, Huawei Mate X supports split-screen interaction, and can support two tasks running synchronously. In terms of configuration, it carries the Kirin 980 + Balong 50005G baseband developed by Huawei, which can achieve a peak download power of 4.6Gbps. Officially, it takes only three seconds to download a 1GB HD movie.

The HUAWEI Mate X is designed with four layers. The top layer is the screen protection layer of polymer material, the second layer is the flexible flexible screen, the third layer is the soft film support, and the bottom layer is the rotating shaft. The key to the design of rotating axle is a comprehensive problem which combines mathematics, physics, materials science, industrial design and other disciplines.

What’s more noteworthy is that the phone is equipped with 4500 mAh super-large batteries and 55W super fast charging. It’s amazing that you can fill it up with 85% of the electricity in 30 minutes.

Such a fantastic product naturally has a fantastic price. It is reported that Huawei Mate X 8GB RAM + 512GB ROM version sells for 2299 euros, equivalent to RMB $2605, and is expected to be sold in the middle of the year. Of course, considering Huawei’s consistent pricing strategy, we have reason to believe that Huawei Mate X’s domestic selling price will be much lower than this value. Nevertheless, it is bound to break ten thousand dollars.

As Huawei’s first 5G + folding screen flagship, Huawei Mate X has reached an amazing level in all aspects, highlighting Huawei’s leading technology. In 2018, Huawei spent a fantastic year, and in 2019, Huawei Mate X pioneered, including Huawei P30 series, Mate series at the same time, Huawei in 2019, perhaps more than we imagined.

Samsung Galaxy Fold might be more attractive than the Galaxy S10
Before MWC 2019, Samsung released the Galaxy Fold fold-screen mobile phone, which even overwhelmed the Galaxy S10 series. Unlike Huawei Mate X and a series of folding screen design. Samsung Galaxy Fold uses the fold-in design with two screens. The external small screen is 4.6 inches, the internal large screen is 7.3 inches, with side fingerprints and customized One UI.

In terms of configuration, the phone has a super combination of snapdragon 855 and 12GB RAM + 512 GB ROM. The whole machine is equipped with six cameras, three on the back, two on the front and one on the side. Of course, it also sells for $1980 ($134,000).

Galaxy Fold is undoubtedly the focus of this MWC 2019 Samsung Show and has attracted wide consumer attention. As the world’s first mass-produced folding screen product, Galaxy Fold’s achievements will largely reflect consumers ‘acceptance of folding screen products, which is enough to test the market prospects.

Of course, the Galaxy Fold and the Galaxy S10 series are coming out again. Samsung also brought two new friends, Galaxy A50 and A30.

Both of them are designed with Infinity-O open-hole screen. The main difference is that the camera parameters of the former are 25MP in front, 25.5MP + 8MP in back, and 16MP + 5MP in front and 16MP + 5MP in back. It can be seen that as Samsung’s main self-timer image technology products, Galaxy A50 and A30 is really good in the hardware configuration.

OPPO: 10-fold hybrid optical zoom technology + 5G network
As the “Opening Show” of MWC 2019, OPPO officially brought 10 times hybrid optical zoom technology and the first 5G product.

On MWC2017, OPPO released a 5-fold nondestructive zoom technology based on periscope structure. On this basis, OPPO has brought about a 10-fold hybrid optical zoom technology, which achieves full-focus coverage of 16mm-160mm through a rod-connected scheme of 48m subject + ultra-wide angle lens + long-focus lens.

From the field demonstration, the 10-fold hybrid optical zoom technology is very mature and can be commercialized. After 10 times zoom, the photo is still clear, showing the advantages of optical zoom. It is worth mentioning that 10-fold zoom, in fact, the maximum support for 20-fold zoom, by 10-fold optical zoom + 10-fold digital zoom. According to Shen Yiren, deputy president of OPPO, products with 10 times hybrid optical zoom technology will be officially launched in April.

It is worth mentioning that OPPO not only brings 10 times hybrid optical zoom technology, but also its first 5G mobile phone. All along, OPPO has achieved a lot in the field of 5G research and development. It has achieved the first 3D video call in the world and 5G scene applications such as multi-person micro-messaging video chat under 5G.

Interestingly, OPPO’s 5G demo is the same as the 10-fold hybrid optical zoom demo. So does this mean that the upcoming OPPO with 10-fold hybrid optical zoom technology is also a 5G product? The answer can only wait for OPPO to reveal for us personally.

OPPO’s 2018 is a glorious year. With the help of many breakthrough products such as Find X and R17 Pro, OPPO has successfully demonstrated its technical capabilities to the public. Among them, Find X has won the unanimous praise of consumers by virtue of the world’s highest screen share and 3D structured light technology. In 2019, OPPO has put forward 10 times hybrid optical zoom technology and optical field screen fingerprint technology. With the help of 5G as the key node, how will OPPO perform in 2019 is worth looking forward to.

Nubia: The first werable phone with flexible OLED screen
On MWC 2019, Nubia brought its first folding screen device, Nubia α. Of course, it’s more appropriate to call Nubia α with a wrist machine. Nubia α is a device that can be worn on the wrist. It is equipped with a 960*192 resolution 4-inch flexible screen. The screen extends to the wristband position, which is quite different from the traditional smart watch. In addition, Nubia α also supports empty gesture operation and has a great sense of future.

In practice, it brings a brand new experience. In the process of sliding, the wrist machine will also send out “click click” sound effect, as if it has a feeling of “touching the future”.

Nubia α has three versions: Bluetooth version for 499 euros, black eSIM version for 549 euros and 18K gold-plated eSIM version for 649 euros. According to Nubia officials, Nubia α supports China Unicom’s eSIM card, which means that the national version of Nubia α will be on the market soon. Maybe we will see its actual products soon.

Nokia: the world’s first smartphone with 5 rear cameras
On MWC 2019, Nokia brought several new products, including the 9 PureView of Gatling Gun Line. Nokia 9 PureView, the world’s first post-five-camera product, is equipped with both laser focusing and flash. Five cameras are 12 million pixel cameras. They are uniformly equipped with f/1.82 aperture lenses. Two of them are equipped with color sensors, and the other three are equipped with ultra-sensitive monochrome sensors (the light input can be increased to 2.9 times that of traditional color sensors).

It is reported that Nokia 9 PureView’s five 12 million cameras can work at the same time, and the amount of light collected at one time can reach 10 times the same type of single-lens mobile phone. This also means that every photo taken by Nokia 9 PureView has a super HDR dynamic range and can show active and realistic colors.

There is no doubt that Nokia 9 PureView is an image flagship. Unfortunately, Nokia 9 PureView only carries the snapdragon 845 processor. In addition, it also carries 6 GB RAM + 128 GB ROM storage combination, standard distribution battery 3320 mAh, and it supports fast charging. Starting at $699 (about RMB 4691), it has been officially shipped.

In addition to Nokia 9 PureView, HMD Global has released several entry-level products, Nokia 4.2, Nokia 3.2 and Nokia 1 Plus. Nokia 4.2 is relatively high-end, it uses glass material, and the screen is a 5.71 water drop screen. In addition, it is equipped with 13 million + 2 million pixels of dual-camera, the processor is the snapdragon 439. Nokia 3.2 uses a polycarbonate body. The power button has a backlight function. It carries a 6.26 inch 720P water drop screen and is equipped with a snapdragon 429 processor.

Nokia 1 Plus is a standard entry-level product, but it is more stylish, vaguely reminiscent of the glory of Lumia in the past. By the way, finally there’s a Nokia 210, with a 2.4-inch screen and a physical keyboard, which provides applications like Facebook and Classic Snake, but its storage space is very limited and it’s difficult to expand more applications.

By contrast, Nokia 9 PureView’s innovation is commendable, but its product strength is insufficient. Nokia 9 PureView can be welcomed by video enthusiasts, but it may be difficult to popularize it in the public. The other low-end products may perform better.

OnePlus: showing the cloud game playing experience under 5G network
At the MWC 2019 conference, OnePlus and Qualcomm showed you the experience of cloud games based on 5G network: players only need a smartphone and a game handle, they can experience large-scale games that could only be implemented on PC at any time. By computing on cloud servers, such large games not only do not need to be downloaded, but also achieve high-definition picture quality and very low latency.

Liu Zuohu, CEO of OnePlus, said: “Under the 5G network, significant improvements in speed, delay and network capacity can truly achieve cloud game services. You can play big games anywhere by carrying a cell phone with you. In the future, 5G will subvert the whole industry, and the changes it brings will affect all fields, from communications, medical care to education.

Liu Zuohu also held a round-table forum with the theme of “One Plus 5G: Speed Reconstructing the Future” by Cristiano R. Amon, President of Qualcomm and Marc Allera, CEO of EE, to discuss the development of 5G in depth. When talking about the change of 5G in the field of games, Liu Zuohu believes that 5G will solve the bottleneck problem of the development of cloud games, so that users can truly experience the smooth service of cloud games.

For the development of 5G, Liu Zuohu put forward the concept of 5G 3.0. He believes that 5G will go through three stages. At present, 5G is still in its first stage. Until 2021, smartphones and related applications will change from terminal to cloud. The speed increase brought by 5G will make everything cloud-based. It will lead to application scenarios such as cloud games, cloud video and cloud shopping, which can be called 5G 1.0 era.

Recently, with solid technological accumulation, OnePlus announced that it would cooperate with partners such as EE, Elisa, China Unicom and so on to jointly promote the 5G business process. In the UK, the first half of this year will launch a commercial 5G mobile phone jointly with EE; in Finland, the 5G mobile phone jointly with Elisa will be officially released in the second quarter of this year; at home, China Unicom has also reached a 5G strategic cooperation to explore the development of 5G and promote the development of 5G mobile phones.
