OBSBOT Tail 2 ADV & Tail Air – Up to $200 with Early-Bird Deals

More reach for live events, smarter camera control for creators, and launch discounts worth a closer look: OBSBOT Tail 2 ADV and OBSBOT Tail Air 2 are now available for pre-order. The campaign brings early-bird pricing to two new cameras designed to make video production more flexible, whether you are covering a stage performance, filming interviews, or building a streaming setup. The headline offers put the OBSBOT Tail 2 ADV at $1,399 instead of $1,599, saving $200, while the OBSBOT Tail Air 2 NDI Edition is advertised at $899 instead of $999, saving $100. For creators who do not need NDI network video, OBSBOT also lists a Tail Air 2 Standard Edition at $799 instead of $899. That gives buyers three distinct entry points, depending on their production needs.

The Tail 2 ADV’s standout feature is its 21× optical zoom, supported by up to 40× hybrid zoom. For anyone filming from the back of an auditorium or covering action across a stage, that reach opens up more framing options without relocating the camera. You can move from a wide view to a tighter shot while keeping the same camera position—a practical advantage for concerts, presentations, and sporting events. Recording support reaches 4K at 60fps and 1080p at 120fps.

Exposure control also gets attention. A variable aperture, together with manual shutter speed and ISO adjustment in Pro Mode, gives operators more room to adapt to changing lighting. OBSBOT Log recording and custom LUT support add flexibility when planning the look of a production and adjusting footage afterward. These are useful additions for creators who want greater control over both capture and post-production.

The Tail 2 ADV also has the connections to fit into more demanding setups. HDMI 2.0, 3G-SDI, USB-C, Ethernet, and RS-232 provide options for connecting production equipment, while native NDI HX3 and support for SRT, RTSP, and RTMP expand network streaming possibilities. For teams building a multi-camera workflow, this combination makes the camera especially interesting beyond a simple desktop streaming setup.

The Tail Air 2 takes a different approach, pairing a compact format with a 1-inch CMOS sensor and an f/1.9 aperture. It supports recording at up to 4K at 60fps or 1080p at 120fps, while a dedicated AI image-processing chip is designed to reduce noise in low-light scenes. For interviews, indoor content creation, and smaller performances, those specifications make it a promising option where lighting and available space can vary.

Camera management is another major part of its appeal. AI Tracking 2.0, Launchpad 2.0, and the AI Director Grids interface bring tracking, presets, and shot controls together. For a solo creator or a small team, easier access to those controls could help reduce the attention spent managing framing during a recording or live broadcast. Tail Air 2 also supports OBSBOT Log and LUTs, giving creators additional options for developing a consistent visual style.

Choosing the right Tail Air 2 edition matters. The NDI Edition includes built-in NDI support without a separate activation purchase, making it the relevant choice for buyers planning to transmit video over a network. The Standard Edition does not support NDI, and OBSBOT states that it cannot be upgraded later through a license purchase. If NDI is part of your planned setup, select the NDI Edition from the start.

For buyers deciding between the two cameras, the distinction is straightforward: the Tail 2 ADV offers long optical reach and extensive production connectivity, while the Tail Air 2 focuses on compact video production with a large sensor and accessible camera controls. Both bring useful tools for creators looking to expand what they can capture with a smaller crew.

Pre-orders are open now through the official OBSBOT store, with estimated shipping listed for early December. The store displays US prices before tax, so check your selected edition, regional total, and delivery details before ordering. With $200 off the Tail 2 ADV and $100 off the advertised Tail Air 2 NDI Edition, the early-bird campaign offers a timely opportunity to upgrade your production setup at a lower launch price.
