The exciting agreement is projected to help both brands expand and build off each other’s respective global markets. It’s also not the first time OPPO has joined forces with major sports teams. Its all-star lineup of past partners and sponsees include FC Barcelona, International Cricket Council, and India’s national cricket team, among others.
Thanks to the newest partnership, OPPO has been designated as Wimbledon’s official phone brand, and high-performance Reno Series will play a major role in capturing highlights from the year’s most exciting games. We’re also sponsoring an ongoing, fan-powered contest that recognizes outstanding young players’ performances.
Promising athletes across the tournament’s main five draws, as well as the wheelchair and junior draws, are eligible for the OPPO Wimbledon Breakthrough Award. Here’s how it works: at the close of each day’s games from July 1-8, Wimbledon Channel presenters announced their pick for the most stunning upset or impressive performance.
On July 9, they will narrow the list of names to just four outstanding players; the shortlist will also be announced on the Wimbledon Channel. The next day, online voting will open up to the public.
Fans will have until the morning of Sunday, July 14, to cast a vote for their favorite of the four. That evening, the winner will be announced.
