OPPO Launches Intelligent Assistant Breeno and “Gravity Plan” to Empower Developers.
With “Innovation for the Future” as its theme, OPPO held its 2018 Developers Conference today in Beijing. During the conference, OPPO released Breeno, an intelligent assistant for the era of 5G, and at the same time announced the “Gravity Plan”,which will empower developers directly through a RMB one billion investment for the purpose of joining hands with global partners and developers in building an intelligent service ecology together.
In the intelligent connectivity era of 5G, OPPO is committed to bringing a revolutionary, simple and convenient experience to users.
During the conference, OPPO comprehensively explained its insight into the smartphone industry as well as outlining future science and technology trends to developers and industry partners. Levin Liu, Global Vice President of OPPO and President of the OPPO Research Institute, described the deep integration of 5G with artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, and virtual reality (AR). Additionally, new connections and services will be major trends for the future. The future technology network will be formed by the integration of various new technologies, based on the 5G+ basic network, while a variety of new services will constitute a service network. OPPO will use mobile phones as the core of its multi-intelligent terminals, deploy new portals centering on core user scenarios, and join hands with partners and developers to create new services for “family” and “health” scenarios.
Levin Liu also said: “The exploration of the 5G+ era application scenarios will ultimately determine the value of 5G. As a technology company, OPPO is committed to making breakthroughs in fundamental technology, drives technology layout with user demands, and joins hands with developers in bringing revolutionary, simple and convenient experience to users to satisfy their rigid demands and truly bring about the user-oriented world of the 5G+ intelligent connectivity era.”
OPPO launches Breeno, an intelligent assistant designed to be the center of users interconnected lives
OPPO officially released Breeno, an intelligent assistant integrating sensing, decision-making and learning evolution, aiming to provide users with personalized intelligent services through natural multimodal interaction. Breeno connects OPPO’s hardware, software and service platforms and offers a technical framework integrating system-wide capabilities. Through the integration of sensing technology with natural multimodal interaction, Breeno can better understand user demand. The cognitive technologies represented by natural language understanding, knowledge graph, context computing, and personalized recommendation enable Breeno to more comprehensively understand the world.
Andy Wu, Global Vice President of OPPO and President of Software Engineering Business Division stressed: “As a strategic product for the future, Breeno will break the barriers between the smartphone and all other interconnected things while bringing users an integrated, smooth and intelligent experience. Adhering to the concept of ‘openness, sharing and co-creation’, Breeno will serve as a speech skill and smart service platform open to developers and partners to access more devices and integrate more new services, developing itself into the intelligent control center for interconnected devices.”
OPPO opens three platforms to build an intelligent service environment and launches “Gravity Plan” to empower developers
Intelligent service is a brand-new mobile internet environment with OPPO providing users with direct intelligent services through intelligence devices. Based on open platforms and the cloud, this new environment aims to meet users’ daily needs for clothing, food, residence, and travel. Henry Duan, Global Vice President of OPPO and President of Internet Business Division, expressed in his speech: “OPPO will integrate its capability advantages in software, hardware and services, and open up a new environment , including scores of capabilities such as content cooperation, technical cooperation, cloud platform, open flow, direct services, and personalized services to provide developers with high-quality technical support to allow us to build an intelligent service environment together.”
Regarding software, OPPO offers strong technical support with AI cloud platforms, HyperBoost, ARunit, and EagleGet to provide users with a smooth, stable, long-lasting and safe experience. As for hardware, OPPO has gradually expanded its multi-intelligent terminal devices centering on smartphones while launching IoT cloud and developer platforms. At present OPPO has formed IoT partnerships with 18 manufacturers including among others Midea and TCL. In the future, OPPO will further integrate industry resources to build a complete IoT environment for users.
During the conference, OPPO officially announced the “Gravity Plan” by investing RMB one billion to support developers and attract more to support multiple fields such as application cooperation domestically and overseas.
As of October 2018, OPPO works together with over 100,000 developers. With “Gravity Plan”, OPPO will share system-level capabilities with developers. This will reduce development costs through technical and content resources, allowing developers to focus on enhancing the quality of their products. In addition, OPPO continuously cooperates with industry partners. For example, OPPO has become the partner of Qualcomm’s “5G Pilot” Project and jointly launched “update of game resource packages” together with Tencent Games. Through such deep cooperation, OPPO continues to optimize the overall user experience.
Looking into the future, OPPO will join hands with more developers to build an intelligent service environment for the intelligent connectivity era, ultimately bringing a better experience to users.
