Qualcomm Snapdragon 712 brings 10% performance boost than the SD 710
On February 7, Qualcomm announced the official launch of the Snapdragon 712 mobile processor platform. The Snapdragon 712 comes with the same 10nm FinFET technology as the Snapdragon 710, and also integrates the eight-core Kryo 360 CPU core, as well as Adreno 616 GPU, which has a 10% performance boost than the Snapdragon 710.
Now, Qualcomm has brought a detailed official interpretation of Snapdragon 712. Qualcomm said that the 712 mobile platform not only inherits all the AI smarts and premium features of its predecessor, the Snapdragon 710 mobile platform, but also brings strong support for games and more experiences through improved performance.
Specifically, like Snapdragon 710, Snapdragon 712 mobile platform is built with a 10-nanometer process and supports multi-core Qualcomm AI Engine, which is composed of Qualcomm Kryo 360 CPU, Qualcomm Adreno 616 GPU and Qualcomm Hexagon 685 DSP.
Qualcomm officials said the Snapdragon 712 offers a 10% performance improvement over the Snapdragon 710, bringing a technological boost to multimedia and other mobile experiences, as well as higher efficiency and more economic benefits.
In gaming, Snapdragon 712 can achieve faster processing speed and graphics rendering, making the games, such as competitive games and multiplayer games, run smoothly and respond quickly. At the same time, Qualcomm emphasized that the Adreno 616 GPU is designed to allow you to enjoy the console-like gaming quality and cinema-level movie experience on your smartphones and is capable of rendering more than 1 billion colors. And Qualcomm Aqstic audio technology can provide excellent sound quality and make the game experience more immersive.
In addition to the enhanced gaming features, Snapdragon 712 supports other premium features. Snapdragon 712 integrates the Snapdragon X15 LTE modem, which supports multiple enhanced 4G LTE features, and supports 4×4 MIMO and Licensed Assisted Access (LAA). The official said the download speed of the Snapdragon 712 is more than twice that of the traditional LTE Advanced speed.
The Snapdragon 712 comes with the Qualcomm Spectra 250 camera ISP, which supports 10-bit color depth and 4K video shooting, as well as enhanced static shooting. Multi-frame noise reduction allows users to take multiple photos at the same time.
Finally, Snapdragon 712 also supports Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 4+ technology, and the official said that it takes just 15 minutes to charge from zero to 50 percent.
