Roborock S5 Max, a high-end vacuuming and mopping robot @ IFA 2019
Roborock will showcase its another high-end robotic vacuum cleaner – Roborock S5 Max on IFA 2019, which will take place in Berlin from September 6th to the 11th. The Roborock S5 Max inherits the excellent features of the Roborock S5 and offers some welcome improvements, such as the larger water tank, more precise water output control, as well as enhanced 2-in-1 mopping and vacuuming experience.
Roborock has become one of the brands to consider for household cleaning, something that anyone could have foreseen bearing in mind that it belongs to Xiaomi. The Chinese giant is expanding into Europe, and Roborock robots are one of the pillars of its strategy.
We were already able to try the Roborock S6 in its day, surprising us with its intelligence to be able to learn our house and all the obstacles present. The level of autonomy he demonstrated allows us to forget about having to sweep the house.
Now the company extends its range with the Roborock S5 Max, a model that will enter just below the Roborock S6 but still retains many of the features that make its big brother special.
Roborock S5 Max features
● large water tank
● Precise water output control
● support manually set cleaning plan and route: users can set No-mop and No-go zones
● powerful suction
● intuitive recharging: smartly calculate the remaining cleaning space and automatically recharge to prepare enough power for the complete cleaning.
● app control
● Google assistant and Amazon Alexa voice control
Convenient setting for cleaning plan and cleaning route
The Roborock S5 Max maintains one of the best features of the Roborock S6, the “virtual barriers”, which define the areas that the robot should not pass through even if it can. It is especially useful to prevent the device from throwing valuable objects, or to prevent it from entering a play area for children. The interesting thing is that we can define zones through which the robot can pass, but it should not clean; for example, if it needs to get from one cleaning zone to another. We can also define areas that can not pass under any circumstances, so your system will look for alternative routes. The S5 Max creates a map of our home, and is capable of calculating routes that reach every corner.
Large water tank with precise water output control
The Roborock S5 Max offers a large water tank with twice the capacity of the previous models, with which the Roborock S5 Max can easily finish the cleaning task throughout the house with the area of up to 185 square meters at once. The great novelty of the S5 Max is in the water tank, which now has a much more precise control, to the point that it allows a different cleaning depending on the material of the floor. The robot can learn which areas are more sensitive than others, and which require more work, and apply the right amount of water in each case. This is particularly important for some users with different floor types and avoids damage.
Support voice control of Google assistant and Amazon Alexa
Another welcome feature of the Roborock S5 Max is that it can work with both Google assistant and Amazon Alexa, so you can let the robot vacuum cleaner start or stop working with your voice commands, which bring users more convenient and effortless home cleaning experience.
Price and availability
The Roborock S5 Max will be first presented at IFA in Berlin at Hall 25, booth#103 on September 6-11, 2019, and it will be priced at $599. So it won’t be long before you can buy it.
