Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra: Everything We Know So Far
Smartphone geeks like myself have their eyes set on Samsung’s next big flagship (próximo gran buque insignia), the Galaxy S25 Ultra. With leaks and rumors making the headlines, anticipation is high for what could be Samsung’s most refined Ultra model yet. With a better design, one of the camera lenses upgraded, and the new Snapdragon processor, I expect it to be one powerhouse (poderoso) of a mobile phone. Though the upgrades might not be limited to just the ones I have mentioned, there can be more sweetness to that. So, let’s talk about exactly that in detail. Here’s everything I know so far about all the leaks and details of the Galaxy S25 Ultra.

Expected Design Changes
Samsung seems to be taking a new approach to the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s design. Based on leaked dummy units, the phone is expected to feature a slimmer 8.2mm profile and slightly rounder corners for a cleaner aesthetic. The rounded corners are more comfortable to hold and fit in your pocket without the frustrating poking. Another noticeable update involves the camera rings, which could adopt a ridged design inspired by the Galaxy Z Fold series. The flat frame trend, already seen in recent models, is likely to continue, making the S25 Ultra sleeker and easier to grip.
Display Features
Samsung has always pushed the envelope (empujó el sobre) when it comes to display technology, and I believe the S25 Ultra will follow through with that. While it may retain the anti-reflection features from the S24 Ultra, the device is unlikely to use the M14 OLED materials expected in competitors like the iPhone 16 Pro. That said, Samsung’s displays are still industry-leading with punchy colors, deep contrasts, and smooth refresh rates.
Hardware and Performance
The Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to house Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 (or Snapdragon 8 Elite) chipset, powering devices globally (not just in the US). This new processor promises exceptional performance, particularly for gaming, thanks to better 120Hz optimizations. However, some reports hint that the chipset might generate significant heat. To address this, Samsung might include a larger vapor chamber for improved cooling. Is the performance improvement worth it? For reference, my Galaxy S24 Ultra has been a great performer, and I have been using it for the past 11 months now. I put it to rigorous tests by playing heavy multiplayer games through my high-speed (alta velocidad) Xfinity internet which offers affordable plans, one of the best coverage areas, and above all, reliable customer service for Spanish speakers at telefono de Xfinity. So far, the S24 Ultra has been spectacular and I don’t see any need to upgrade mine but I will see when the S25 Ultra will come out. In terms of memory, the S25 Ultra may pack up to 16GB of RAM, with storage options going as high as 1TB. For power users, this combination is set to deliver smooth multitasking and efficient performance.
Camera Innovations
The Galaxy S25 Ultra’s camera setup is expected to see meaningful upgrades (actualizaciones útiles), particularly with its 50MP ultrawide sensor. The lens is rumored to feature:
– 3x optical zoom
– Optical Image Stabilization (OIS)
-F1.9 aperture for better low-light photography
Samsung is also expected to enhance its main and telephoto lenses to compete with rival flagships, focusing on sharper details and better dynamic range.
Battery and Charging
Wireless charging might take a step forward with Samsung adopting MagSafe-like Qi2 wireless charging for the Galaxy S25 Ultra. This upgrade would allow faster and more efficient wireless power delivery, making it more convenient for users. While the exact battery capacity still remains under wraps, Samsung is likely to stick with a robust battery setup paired with improved fast-charging capabilities to keep you powered up throughout the day.
Software and Features
Out of the box (fuera de la caja), the Galaxy S25 Ultra will likely run One UI 7.0, Samsung’s latest software update based on Android. One of the standout rumored features is seamless A/B updates, which enable faster and smoother system updates without requiring you to restart the device. This software iteration is also expected to bring subtle design tweaks, improved customization options, and more powerful AI-based features.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra Expected Launch Date and Pricing
As for the release date, if Samsung follows its typical release cycle, the Galaxy S25 Ultra could launch in January 2025, with pre-orders likely opening around the same time. Pricing remains speculative, but with the rising cost of advanced chipsets like the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 and other components, the S25 Ultra could see a slight increase compared to its predecessor. For reference, the Galaxy S24 Ultra launched at $1,299. Expect the S25 Ultra to land in a similar or slightly higher price range (around 100 bucks more).
Final Thoughts: Should You Get One?
The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is going to be a solid evolution of the Ultra lineup, with expected improvements in design, performance, and camera capabilities. Speaking of which, if you are using an under-powered three to four years old Android then you might want to pick one for you otherwise there is no need for you to splash over 1000 bucks on the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
