SDMC at CES 2026: Advancing AI Home Toward Proactive Living
At CES 2026 in Las Vegas (Jan 6–9), SDMC showcased the latest progress of AI Home under our “1+2+X” strategy. Centered on Cedar, SDMC’s Home AI Agent, and built on the connectivity and edge computing, AI Home brings devices and ecosystems together to enable seamless home automation – shifting from reactive control to proactive intelligence.
Cedar, Your Home AI Agent: Always Aware, Always Ready
Powered by Gemini’s latest AI, Cedar continuously understands your home through multiple signals—sight, sound, and environmental cues. It follows a proactive cycle of observing, understanding, and deciding, with core processing on-device to learn routines, anticipate needs, respond instantly, and safeguard your privacy. As the intelligent hub of your home, Cedar coordinates TVs, speakers, and robots to seamlessly manage your environment—from adjusting lighting and temperature to providing timely reminders and thoughtful care—making your AI Home experience both reliable and approachable.
AI Home Networking: A Strong Foundation for the Whole Home
Backed by Wi-Fi 7, XGS-PON, and DOCSIS 4.0, SDMC’s networking lineup delivers fast, stable connectivity across the home. With Matter integration, the gateway evolves into a home hub that improves cross-brand interoperability. Enhanced by edge computing and multi-dimensional sensing, the network can spot anomalies earlier, trigger alerts, and allocate bandwidth more intelligently—while keeping sensitive data processed locally for privacy. Looking ahead, SDMC is advancing toward Wi-Fi 8 with stability and reliability as key priorities.
AI Home Entertainment: Multiple Entry Points, One Unified Experience
SDMC showcased a cohesive lineup of streaming boxes, sticks, speakers, and soundbars designed to blend naturally into modern homes. The flagship 4K Google TV box—with Matter support—serves as a unified entry point for both content discovery and device control. On-device AI enhances everyday viewing through ambient interactions such as wake/standby, gesture control, and intelligent upgrades including AI super resolution and live subtitling. SDMC also introduced an AI NAS Frame concept for family photos and videos, supporting voice search and effortless sharing as AI automatically organizes content and auto-edits highlights.
Next-Gen Projector: Immersive Viewing, Anytime
SDMC expanded our laser projector lineup to bring immersive viewing to more spaces and everyday scenarios. The 4K laser projector delivers up to 4,000 ANSI lm with a 360° adjustable gimbal for easier placement and side projection. For compact spaces, an ultra-short-throw laser projector with Google TV can project a 100-inch screen from about 11 inches. SDMC is also exploring a mobile projection robot designed to move and self-position—while continuing to support the Matter ecosystem.
AI Camera: From Seeing to Understanding
SDMC’s AI Camera turns video into actionable insight. AI video descriptions add instant context, AI safety grading helps assess risk with situational awareness, and daily recaps condense long recordings into a clear, easy-to-review summary. Working with door/window sensors and other connected devices, it enables multi-sensor awareness for greater accuracy and coordinated responses across the home. Visual item finding and pet insights further extend everyday peace of mind.
Scaling AI Home: Building an Open Ecosystem Together
Looking ahead, SDMC will continue executing AI Home’s “1+2+X” strategy—advancing Cedar as the Home AI Agent, strengthening connectivity and edge computing, and connecting vision with natural interaction through cloud–edge collaboration. Working with global partners, SDMC is building an open AI Home ecosystem designed for proactive service, greater control, and privacy by design—bringing AI Home to everyday households worldwide.
