Firmware Update Guide for Windows
Part 1 – Qualcomm software installation
1. Run “Qualcomm CSR software installer”.
2. Set where should be software installed. 30 MB of disk space is required.
3. On “Select Components” screen, make sure to have all components marked for installation.
4. On “Select Additional tasks” screen, make sure “Set debug transport…” is marked for installation.
5. Proceed to finish installation of software.
Part 2 – Connecting Shanling UP4 to computer
A. Battery not fully charged
1. Connect Shanling UP4 to computer with USB-C cable. Red LED light will light up.
2. Press and hold the wheel and the Mode button until LED turns off.
3. Go to “Device manager” on your computer and check if the “CSR BlueCore in DFU mode” item appears under
“Universal Serial Bus controllers”.
If this item doesn’t appear, disconnect Shanling UP4 from computer and repeat process.
B. Battery fully charged
1. Connect Shanling UP4 to computer with USB-C cable. Red LED light will quickly blink and turn off.
2. Press and hold the wheel until blue LED light starts to blink, keep holding until light completely turns off.
3. Go to “Device manager” on your computer and check if the “CSR BlueCore in DFU mode” item appears under
“Universal Serial Bus controllers”.
If this item doesn’t appear, disconnect Shanling UP4 from computer and repeat process.
Part 3 – Firmware update
1. On your computer, locate and launch program “Dfu Wizard”. In Start menu, it will be listed under “CSR
BlueSuite” folder.
2. On “Connection Type” screen, be sure to choose “Universal Serial Bus (USB)”.
3. On Upgrade Action screen, choose the first option
4. On “Upgrade File” screen, click on “Browse…” and locate DFU file “Shanling UP4 firmware VX.X.dfu” that was
included in downloaded zip archive.
5. Click on “Next” and wait until upgrade process finishes. It will take 2-3 minutes. Click Finish to close
software.
6. Shanling UP4 is now updated and ready to be used.
