SMSL M200 DAC Released: Latest DAC Solution
SMSL released their latest mid-fi level desktop DAC, the SMSL M200. It is a desktop DAC series from the “M” series by the brand.
The M series currently has three models in the market, M100 entry-level DAC, M300 MKII as mid-level, and M500 as the top of the line Desktop DAC from the series. SMSL M200 comes to fill the gap between the M100 and the M300 MKII. It features a high-performance AKM DAC chip AK4497EQ that is usually found in mid to high-level DAC’s and DAPs. The M200 is capable of decoding PCM up to 32-Bit/768kHz, or DSD up to DSD512 natively. It features Bluetooth V5.0 wireless connectivity with Hi-res codecs support like UAT, LDAC, AptX HD, and many more. The device has a fully balanced XLR output port, it is loaded with features like OLED display, multiple inbuilt filters, fully functional remote control, and more. Premium Sound Output With Premium Chipset Configuration
SMSL M200 has a premium chipset configuration featuring high-performance AKM DAC chip, AK4497EQ that provides outstanding sound decoding. The audio signal output is natural and provides a crispy sound clarity. The M200 is equipped with a second-generation XMOS chip that makes it able to decode PCM up to 32-Bit/768kHz and DSD up to DSD512 natively. Wireless Freedom
SMSL M200 houses a Hi-Fi level Bluetooth chip from Qualcomm. It features Bluetooth V5.0 connectivity with hi-res codecs support including UAT, LDAC, and many more. UAT is the latest wireless Hi-res transmission technology developed by HiBy that supports transmission up to 192kHz bit rate files. It ensures users get outstanding sound quality over wireless transmission as well.
Fully Balanced Sound Output
SMSL M200 features a fully balanced XLR port that can be used to provide a fully balanced output directly to your speakers, headphones, or further to your fully balanced AMP systems. The XLR ports have an output voltage rating of 4.1Vrms that is more than enough to power up your speaker systems. Apart from the balanced XLR output the M200 also has an unbalanced RCA output that has an output voltage rating of 2Vrms. Six Built-in Digital Filters
SMSL M200 features six different digital filter modes to let the users choose according to their personal sound preferences. It includes Sharp Roll-off, Slow Roll-off, Short Delay, and more. It also features two DSD filters and three sound colorations that users can choose from.
