The Karma was developed with a specific goal: to challenge the absolute limits of modern acoustics by harmonizing five distinctive sound technologies into one unified system. Softears aimed to create a sound signature that delivers a warm, natural tone combined with a highly resolving nature. To achieve this unified 5-dimensional acoustic ecosystem, Softears has equipped the Karma with a highly advanced 10-driver setup on each side. Softears has meticulously selected and tuned each driver for absolute phase coherence. At the low end, a 10mm biological wool diaphragm dynamic driver handles natural air movement, working in tandem with dual Sonion 37AAX bone conduction drivers that deliver a physical, tactile thump you can truly feel. For the midrange, four customized full-range balanced armatures guarantee absolute transparency and emotional neutrality in vocals and instruments. Finally, the ultra-high frequencies are managed by a revolutionary combination of a PZT thin-film MEMS driver and dual Electrostatic (EST) drivers, ensuring class-leading transient speed and airy extension without the need for a dedicated high-voltage amplifier. Unlike traditional MEMS drivers that require a high-voltage amplifier, the MEMS in Karma works without any such requirements.
Visually, the Karma departs from traditional resin shells to embrace pure industrial artistry. The pair features breathtaking earpieces precision CNC-machined from high-density pure titanium alloy. These shells are carefully polished to achieve an elegant combination of matte and crystalline mirror finishes, which minimizes unwanted resonance while ensuring maximum acoustic stability. The faceplates proudly display a striking, asymmetric “K” design, serving both as a structural aesthetic and a clear visual identity befitting its premium flagship status.
To perfectly complement the Karma’s unique tuning and flagship-level performance, Softears bundles the IEM with a high-performance custom stock cable. The cable features a premium 7N rotary-forged high-purity OCC and silver-plated coaxial dual-layer conductor structure. This specialized cable ensures excellent signal integrity, improved transient response, and a highly engaging, analog-like musical presentation. It features standard 0.78mm 2-pin connectors and comes terminated with a high-quality titanium-alloy CNC-machined 4.4mm balanced plug straight out of the box.
