OPPO Reno successful in T-Mobile 5G Field Lab
In the 5G Field Lab at the T-Mobile headquarters in The Hague, the provider tests the new opportunities that 5G has to offer. The test with the OPPO Reno 5G achieved unprecedented download speeds up to 850 Mbps. In comparison, the maximum speed attained so far using the 4G network is around 400 Mbps, which was achieved by bundling a number of 4G signals together. Ready for a new digital age with OPPO Reno 5G
OPPO has been closely involved in the development of 5G technology since 2015, and has sustainably invested in design and technology to develop an attractive 5G-ready smartphone. As part of the OPPO 5G Landing Project, earlier this year OPPO introduced the Reno 5G as the first 5G telephone commercially available in Europe. The Reno 5G runs on a Snapdragon 855 processor, and features 8GB RAM and 256 GB internal storage.
The Netherlands ready for 5G by 2020
At the moment, it is only possible to test 5G applications at a select number of 5G research locations. The tests give a hint of what may be possible after the national roll-out of 5G in 2020. Early next year, the first 700 MHz frequency will be auctioned for 5G, followed by the continued expansion of 5G network capacity, with the planned auction of the 3,500 MHz frequency in 2022/2023.
