The wait is over, get Android 7.0 on your UMi Plus right now!
So finally the wait is over! After a beta testing period, today the major update is rolling out for the UMi Plus and will reach all the users within 24 hours, so the very successful Helio P10-powered product is ready to get an important refresh which the users will welcome with open hands.
The closed beta was released a few months ago and was shared with a few selected users in order to develop it together, listening the feedbacks and the suggestions to give the best possible user experience. Some weeks later, the project moved to the “open beta” stage, where everyone could flash the ROM (which was almost a stable release) and help further into optimizing what was left.
Today we will finally see the result of all this hard work made by the company and its users. UMi promised to roll out the update before Christmas, and with today’s announcement the company has kept its promise, it’s an earlier Christmas gift from UMi to its users all around the world!.
Among the other features, Android N will bring the latest optimizations (and security updates) to the Plus. Here are a few interesting features you will find in Nougat:
– Vulkan API support for enhanced 3D graphics;
– Customizable quick settings menu and direct reply through message notifications;
– Multi-Window view and quick switch between apps;
– More than 1500 emojis and multi-locale settings.
Before applying the OTA, make sure to make a backup of your data, since it’s a major update. When you will update:
– All the quick settings that you had set up before will be removed;
– Fingerprint ID will be removed, so you need to set it up again.
Last but not least, UMi Promised the update also for Super and Max: the development team reported, they will be pushed out this month, so more good news for UMi users!
As a reminder to our readers, the Umi Plus uses Helio P10 Octa Core processor, has 4GB Samsung RAM memory and 32GB (expandable) Internal Storage.
UMi Plus has a very nice build quality, it uses 6000 series of aerospace-level aluminum materials, the screen size is 5.5 inches and uses a Sharp panel with 1920×1080 resolution and covered by a 2.5D arc glass.
UMi Plus’ fingerprint scanner has an unlocking speed of only 0.1s. The front camera is a 5.0MP unit, the rear one is a 13MP shooter with SAMSUNG®3L8 PDAF sensor and pro-mode shooting, The big 4000 mAh 4.35V battery also supports PE+ fast charging technology, thanks to the USB Type-C port.
