WALNUTT SPECTRA Silver & SPECTRA X @ CES 2019
Besides scooters and hoverboards, can we choose a cooler way as our commuter tool in the last one mile? Aiming to transform the current commuter experience and bring up futuristic commuting solutions, Walnut Technology (WALNUTT), a design-driven hardware startup, demonstrated its CES 2019 Innovation Award Honoree, SPECTRA Silver, in CES 2019.
The Award Honoree SPECTRA Silver is the world’s first 3D posture control electric skateboard. Simply step on the deck and adjusting the body posture, users can start a total hands-free journey right away. Different from other electric skateboards, there are 3 different controlling methods: body posture, remote controllers, and the eBoard Go APP on their smartphones. Being the most powerful model in the SPECTRA family, Silver is a four-wheel drive model with a top speed of 35 km/h. The LED light in front indicates the battery status as well as the speed modes. As the first skateboard with an AI learning system, the embedded self-learning 3D Step algorithm memorises users’ using habits, turning SPECTRA into a user’s real personal mobility.
The advanced technology along with the exquisite design makes SPECTRA Silver stand out. The inspiration for its design is the Silver Surfer in Marvel Comics. Being the first personal smart mobility that uses aeroplane material, Silver represents the combination of quality and scientific aesthetics. The high polished magnesium unibody perfectly incorporated into the futuristic design, transforming Silver into a ‘Real Silver Surfer’.
Wanna try a new product in sharing mobility?
During CES 2019, apart from the demonstration of SPECTRA Silver, WALNUTT launched a new product named SPECTRA X – a truly shareable electric skateboard, bringing the true sharing economy to electric skateboards. WALNUTT wanted to make trying new products (before purchase) easier and more convenient than ever before.
Different from other sharing mobility companies, SPECTRA X is focusing on P2P (person to person) sharing. Similar to Airbnb, owners have full ownership of SPECTRA X, and rent out the right of use to people who are interested in riding their SPECTRA X. To make this possible, WALNUTT comes with a sharing feature available through the eBoard Go APP.
With P2P sharing, SPECTRA X connects people who share the same interests, enabling more people to enjoy the fun of e-skateboarding while fostering an e-skater ecosystem. This P2P sharing feature is scalable to other high-end gadgets as well.
In addition to the sharing feature, SPECTRA X is jam-packed with upgraded functionality. SPECTRA boards offered the world’s first 3D posture control. To provide a more enjoyable hands-free riding experience, new sensors in SPECTRA X are lighter and more sensitive than the first generation of SPECTRA. Pushing the overall riding experience to the next level, SPECTRA X inherits 3 control modes: body posture, remote control, and the eBoard Go APP.
SPECTRA X also features a water-proofed body, replaceable rechargeable batteries, and replaceable tires.
