Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha 5G: renders, shocking design and 108MP camera
The Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha smartphone will be released on September 24 along with the Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G and MIUI 11 operating system. “It’s a very shocking and absolutely subversive smartphone” praised by Xiaomi’s CEO Lei Jun. There are many renders of the Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha published on the web. Although they may look a little different, but the design concept is basically the same. In the following image, Xiaomi MIX Alpha smartphone appears to have a “surround screen” that extends from the front to the back, with an area on the back side to place multiple cameras. The whole looks a bit like the folded Huawei Mate X.
But it is clear that the Xiaomi MIX Alpha will not adopt a folding screen design, and the surround display is equivalent to adding a layer of screen thickness to the phone, so the phone is relatively thick, as can be seen from the official renderings.

Today, Xiaomi officially reveal that the Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha will offer 108MP camera with the resolution up to 12032 x 9024 pixels and large 1/1.3 inches image sensor. The size of single picture is more than 40MB, which will offer very cleaner and shocking pictures even after it is magnified 2 times, 4 times or even 8 times. In addition, Xiaomi MIX Alpha may also first release the brand-new in-display camera technology. Lin Bin, Xiaomi’s co-founder and president, has previously shown off Xiaomi’s in-screen camera phone, which is officially called “Xiaomi hidden screen technology.” It innovatively hides the front camera under the screen, presenting a complete full screen shock field of view.
Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha will support 5G network
On the afternoon of September 23, Lei Jun, founder of Xiaomi, chairman and CEO of Xiaomi Group, used MIX Alpha to post Weibo, saying that MIX Alpha supports 5G network. In view of this, Xiaomi MIX Alpha may be carrying Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus flagship platform, equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon X50 modem to achieve 5G network connection.
