Xiaomi Mi Pad 4, a High-Spec Mid-Range Tablet
Following the success of the Xiaomi Mi Pad 3, the company has proudly released a new, improved and upgraded version of the tablet — the Mi Pad 4. Aiming to rival the iPad series yet again, the Mi Pad 4 is the first Android tablet out there to feature a Snapdragon 660 processor. This fact alone may be worth intriguing for many — but what else does the new tablet have to offer? Let’s find out!
Design
The Mi Pad 4 is quite compact in its design — it measures 7.88 x 4.74 x 0.31 inches — and features a slightly larger screen (compared to the Mi Pad 3) — 8 full inches. The tablet’s compact size makes it easier to use it by holding with just one hand and, naturally, add to the portability of the device. All in all, the Mi Pad 4 bears a strong resemblance to the iPad — a design that will be appreciated by all Apple fans out there. The tablet is available in two colors: classic black and extravagant gold.
Features & Performance
One of the changes on the Mi Pad 4 compared to the previous model — the tablet comes with a smaller resolution of 1920×1200 but the aspect ratio has been changed to 16:10 — a pretty good setup for a mid-range tablet.
The biggest upgrade coming on the Mi Pad 4, as we’ve mentioned earlier, is the Snapdragon 660 AIE SoC processor, known for its powerful cores. You will thus get a stable base for multitasking and gaming (supported by Adreno 512 GP) on a budget.
The tablet is available in three versions:
● Wi-Fi version: 3GB RAM + 32GB ROM
● Wi-Fi version: 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM
● Wi-Fi + 4G version: 4GB RAM + 64GB ROM
There is a USB-C port, Bluetooth 5.0, and dual-band Wi-Fi for connectivity. The 4G version of the tablet also comes with GPS and has a nano-SIM slot for making full use of your internet on-the-go.
The Mi Pad 4 (all versions) comes with a 6,000mAh battery, which gives you plenty of juice to use the tablet in full throughout the day — charging up the device from 0% will take from 3 to 4 hours.
The reasonability of taking pictures with a tablet may be debatable. But it’s always good to have your options open. The Mi Pad 4 lets you do that by featuring a 13 MP main rear camera with a f/2.0 lens. The cam comes with an HDR and Beauty modes and is capable of 1080P recording. There is no LED on board — but the cam is well suited for video chats. The front cam is 5MP and is also there for facial recognition.
The new tablet comes with MIUI 9 operating system — you will be able to enjoy a series of special optimization and a better user experience. Such as the split screen mode, in which you can chat with your friends when watching a movie.
