I can’t even flash this with USB burn tool, tried flashing from SD card from Recovery menu, it wouldn’t work as I have a newer version, this is old, so please do not release as though its brand new. Complete waste of time, please release a decent lip sync problem fixed version

I upgraded to this firmware and now my MXQ Pro 4K S905 box does not recognize the remote control. I have to use an USB mouse and keyboard to use it.
Also, if you’re flashing from the SD card, you MUST format the SD card as FAT32. Otherwise you’ll get an error message about not mounted or something like that. I kept getting that error even after using the SD Formatter DON’T use it. Use this one instead:

Copy the files to the SD card and restart the box by pressing the reset button (inside the AV connection) with a toothpick until the Android logo comes up (about 10-15 seconds) and let go. Remember to use the power cord and NOT the USB cable to power the box.

    Hope this helps!

    Hi everyone,
Maybe someone can help me. After I installed openelec on my Mxq pro 4k im not able to go back to the stock firmware. I followed the guide for making the sd bootcard with the files mentioned above, but it’s not booting from it. Holding reset etc has no effect. Neighter does a pc recognize it. Any advice? Thnx a lot!

Devs-are you releasing a better version soon?
To the person last comment, you need to download amlogic USB burn tool and flash the ROM released before this one on this same website. Use SPMC its better than kodi on android once set up.

Looks like they are not releasing any more updates or new ROM for this box, I tried every ROM anyone ever made for MXQ Pro 4k, there is not really any good ones out there, as usual for Chinese brands, no support at all.

Looks like they released an update, but I can’t download it:

Bought a MXQ Pro 4K S905. Started it and it got stuck on the MXQPro logo.I’ve tried:

    1. Start recoverymode (toothpick in AV on startup), nothing happens

    2. sdcard with revovery image etc on boot nothing happens

    3. Finally i installed USB_Burning_Tool and bought a USB A male to male cable to try install a firmware via USB.

After some testing back and forth, now finally I got my computer to recognize the box. When I press “start” in the burning program all seems fine first: Download DDR, Download UBOOT, Download Meson1, Formatting… Then it stops on 7% with error [0x30201004]UBOOT/Disk initialize/Send command/Error result

Any ideas of how to proceed?

Thank you so much to JWeavis, this is a lot cleaner OS than my previous, and with Kodi 16.1 pre-installed, rather than 16.0 on my previous OS.
BTW – dont try using Openelec 7 with this box, I just had to short the nand pins to get my PC to recognize it in USB burning tool, thought I’d broken it but saved it by shorting the nand pins, dont worry about which ones, I just rolled a mini screwdriver over the Nand pins while plugged in doing toothpick method at same time, it worked straight away. I feel so accomplished now! lol. Thanks again JWeavis

I have a MXQ pro and it will not go into recovery mode using the toothpick method. It just goes directly to “MBOX Make your life colorful” and stays there foever. I tried this method multiple times hold in on reset for >30secs and still same results. From googling I see that this is a common problem and some saying that there may not even be a recovery on it. Is there any work around for this to reflash an alternate ROM?
