Register for the Huawei HMS App Innovation Contest to Win $1 Million
The 2021 Huawei HMS App Innovation Contest, which is themed “HMS Innovate for All”, aims to inspire global developers to jointly build a seamless and smart Huawei Mobile Services (HMS) ecosystem.
Huawei has set aside US $1 million from the Shining Star Program as prize money for the contest. In addition to winning US $1 million, winners are also eligible for a treasure trove of enticing incentives, such as AppGallery promotions, Huawei cloud resources, and exclusive incentives for paid HMS Core capabilities. During the contest’s opening ceremony, HMS Core 6.0 release was announced and “HMS + HUAWEI CLOUD” was further explained, to provide developers with unified services and experience for app innovation.
The contest will be held in China, Europe, Latin America, Asia Pacific, and the Middle East & Africa. It will comprise four phases, which are registration & submission, preliminary, public review, and regional finals. The first phase, registration & submission, will start at 00:00 on June 10.
A judging panel consisting technical experts, senior executives of investment institutions, CEOs and founders of Internet companies, senior technology media personnel, and representatives of public welfare organizations will be set up for this contest. This will help contestants acquire expert suggestions and feedback regarding the development, testing, promotion, and monetization of their apps.
The US $1 million prize money intends to stimulate innovation among developers worldwide.
In terms of settings awards, let us take a look at the awards set for China, which are: Best App (x 5), Best Game (x 3), Best Social Impact App (x 3), Best HMS Core Innovation Award (x 2), All-Scenario Coverage Award (x 1), Honorable Mention (x 5), and Tech Women’s Award (x 1). The prize money for each award amounts to a maximum of US $15000.
Excellent contestants are not just limited to the prize money on offer, but are also eligible for additional incentives, such as AppGallery promotions, Huawei cloud resources, and exclusive incentives for paid HMS Core capabilities.
Huawei also announced officially at the opening ceremony that HMS Core 6.0 is just around the corner, which will services to cover all devices across platforms and further fuel the upgrade of Huawei’s app ecosystem. Moreover, in-depth synergy between HMS and HUAWEI CLOUD will bring more backend technologies and tools to global developers through full-stack cloud native technologies, complete cloud development tool chain, industry-leading security capabilities, and industry-aggregating solution capabilities.
