From IFA to Your Home: What’s Next from XGIMI with the AURA 3 Series

After making its public debut at IFA 2026, XGIMI’s new AURA 3 Series is moving from the exhibition floor toward real living rooms, with the company now opening deposit reservations for its latest generation of ultra-short-throw laser projectors ahead of the upcoming Kickstarter campaign. Built around the AURA 3 Max and AURA 3 Pro, the new series pushes XGIMI’s home-cinema concept considerably further with 4K 120Hz playback, RGB triple-laser projection and a Dual Dynamic Iris system designed to improve contrast and cinematic image control without abandoning the clean, furniture-friendly design that has become one of the signatures of the AURA family.

The flagship AURA 3 Max is positioned as the more powerful of the two models, combining 5,700 ISO lumens with an 8,000:1 native contrast ratio, while the AURA 3 Pro delivers 4,100 ISO lumens and a 7,000:1 native contrast ratio. Both support 4K playback at up to 120Hz and use XGIMI’s Dual Dynamic Iris technology, making the series particularly interesting for users who want the scale of a large-screen home cinema while retaining the convenience of an ultra-short-throw projector that can sit close to the projection surface rather than requiring a conventional ceiling-mounted installation.

Following the IFA presentation, XGIMI is now offering an early reservation program built around a fully refundable $50 deposit. Reserving a unit provides access to the VIP pricing planned for Kickstarter together with an additional $200 saving, provided that the Kickstarter pledge is made using the same email address used for the deposit reservation. According to XGIMI, once the Kickstarter campaign has concluded and the pledge has been charged, the original $50 deposit will be refunded together with the additional promotional saving.

The Super Early Bird pricing currently presented by XGIMI puts the AURA 3 Max at $2,199, compared with a stated MSRP of $4,999, while the AURA 3 Pro is listed at $1,999, against a stated MSRP of $3,999. These figures make the reservation stage especially interesting for early adopters who were already following the AURA 3 Series after its IFA debut and are considering entering the Kickstarter campaign at launch.

It is important to note that the $50 payment is a reservation rather than a direct purchase of the projector, so no physical product is shipped as part of this transaction. One deposit reserves access to one AURA 3 Max or AURA 3 Pro, while the final purchase itself will be completed later through Kickstarter.

For XGIMI, the transition from IFA demonstration to deposit reservation marks the next practical step for the AURA 3 Series, taking technology that visitors could experience on the show floor and preparing it for a much wider audience. With high-brightness RGB triple-laser projection, 4K 120Hz support and the new dual-iris architecture at the center of both models, the AURA 3 Series is shaping up to be one of XGIMI’s most ambitious ultra-short-throw launches yet.

For us at China Gadgets Reviews, the AURA 3 Series is exactly the kind of product we would love to put through a full hands-on test, especially because it combines several technologies that can make a real difference in everyday home-cinema use rather than simply looking impressive on a specification sheet. We would be particularly interested in seeing how the 4K 120Hz playback, RGB triple-laser engine, Dual Dynamic Iris system and high claimed brightness perform in a real living-room environment, where ambient light, screen size, motion handling, contrast and ease of setup matter just as much as headline numbers.
