GMKtec EVO-X3 with Ryzen AI Max+ 395 Global Launch

GMKtec is pushing its EVO Series into a new performance class with the global launch of the GMKtec EVO-X3, a high-end AI mini PC built for users who need serious local computing power in a compact vertical chassis. This is not a typical office mini PC. The EVO-X3 is designed as a desktop AI workstation, combining the AMD Ryzen™ AI Max+ 395, Radeon 8060S graphics, 128GB LPDDR5X memory, OCuLink expansion, and storage options up to 4TB SSD, with total storage expansion support up to 16TB.

At the heart of the EVO-X3 is the AMD Ryzen™ AI Max+ 395, one of AMD’s most powerful AI-focused APUs. It brings 16 cores and 32 threads, Zen 5 architecture, a boost clock of up to 5.1GHz, and up to 126 TOPS of total AI performance. For local AI work, creative production, multitasking, coding, data processing, and advanced workstation use, this gives the EVO-X3 far more headroom than conventional compact PCs. GMKtec also lists three performance profiles: Silent Mode at 54W, Balanced Mode at 85W, and Performance Mode with up to 140W peak power.

The graphics side is equally important. The EVO-X3 uses AMD Radeon™ 8060S integrated graphics, based on RDNA 3.5 architecture, with 40 Compute Units and a graphics frequency of up to 2900MHz. This makes the machine suitable not only for productivity, but also for GPU-accelerated creative workflows, media work, light-to-serious gaming scenarios, and AI tasks that benefit from a stronger integrated GPU platform.

One of the key highlights of the EVO-X3 is its OCuLink PCIe Gen4 x4 interface. This is a major advantage for users who want to connect an external GPU dock and extend the system into a more powerful gaming, rendering, AI, or CUDA-based workstation. GMKtec states that the rear OCuLink port supports external RTX 40/50-series GPUs through an eGPU dock, although the dock is sold separately and users must power off the system before connecting or disconnecting it.

The EVO-X3 also focuses strongly on local AI deployment. GMKtec promotes the system with 235B LLM support, and the product page specifically mentions support for Qwen3 235B, as well as a pre-installed GMKtec Claw system for one-click AI model deployment. The software is designed to help users run local AI agents more easily, with support for switching between cloud and local models and compatibility with major LLM ecosystems including GPT, Qwen and DeepSeek.

Memory and storage are another major part of the appeal. The EVO-X3 comes with 128GB LPDDR5X 8000MT/s RAM as standard, giving local AI workloads, large projects, virtual machines, heavy browser sessions and creative software more breathing room. Storage options include 2TB or 4TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD, while the internal dual M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0 x4 slots allow expansion up to 16TB total storage, using two 8TB drives.

Connectivity is modern and workstation-oriented. The EVO-X3 includes Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, 2.5G Ethernet, HDMI 2.1 with 8K@60Hz output, USB4 Type-C with 40Gbps data and video output, USB-A ports, a 3.5mm combo audio jack, and a full-metal CNC chassis. The slim vertical body measures 353 × 186 × 41 mm without the stand and weighs around 2.3kg, making it compact enough for a desk setup while still looking more like a serious AI blade workstation than a traditional mini PC.

Cooling is handled by a dedicated thermal system with triple heat pipes and triple cooling fans, built to sustain the high-performance Ryzen AI Max+ platform. This matters because the EVO-X3 is not aimed only at occasional browsing or office documents. It is clearly intended for longer sessions involving AI inference, creative rendering, high-resolution media workflows, development, enterprise deployment, and external GPU expansion.

For software flexibility, the EVO-X3 ships with Windows 11 Pro support and is also listed as compatible with Ubuntu/Linux, which makes it attractive not only for content creators and power users, but also for developers, AI researchers, homelab users, and small business deployments. GMKtec also highlights support for Adobe Creative Suite workloads, local AI model management, enhanced gaming performance, and lightweight enterprise server scenarios.

As part of the launch special, the promo materials list the 2TB version at $3,600 and the 4TB version at $3,849, with a VIP discount code: EVOX320 for $20 OFF. The official GMKtec page also lists the EVO-X3 from $3,600, with US orders marked as having no import fees, plus a 7-day return policy and 1-year warranty.

The GMKtec EVO-X3 is clearly a premium machine, but it is also one of the most ambitious mini PCs currently aimed at the AI workstation category. It combines high-end Ryzen AI performance, a very large 128GB memory configuration, serious storage expansion, modern networking, USB4, OCuLink eGPU support, local AI tools, and a distinctive full-metal vertical design. For users who want a compact system that can handle AI, development, creative work, multitasking and external GPU expansion from one small desktop footprint, the EVO-X3 looks like one of GMKtec’s strongest launches so far.
