The heart of the NEO-X1 Pro is the AMD Ryzen™ 9 9955HX3D, a Zen 5 processor featuring 16 cores and 32 threads, with boost speeds of up to 5.4GHz. For gamers, one of the biggest highlights is its 128MB of L3 cache with AMD 3D V-Cache™ technology, designed to help deliver high frame rates in demanding gaming workloads. The processor can operate in several performance modes, including Silent at 54W, Balanced at 85W and Performance at 160W, with peak power reaching 170W. This makes the NEO-X1 Pro an especially interesting proposition for users who want desktop-class gaming performance in a significantly smaller footprint.
RTX 5070 Graphics in a 14.6L Desktop
The CPU is paired with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX™ 5070 featuring 12GB of GDDR7 memory, a 192-bit memory interface and 6,144 CUDA cores. The GPU also provides HDMI 2.1b and three DisplayPort 2.1b outputs, with support for displays up to 8K at 60Hz. That combination gives the NEO-X1 Pro plenty of potential for modern AAA gaming, high-refresh-rate gaming, GPU-accelerated creative applications, rendering and other demanding workloads. For a compact desktop measuring just 350 × 165 × 265mm and weighing approximately 7kg, putting this level of hardware into the chassis is one of the most interesting aspects of the NEO-X1 concept.
Liquid Cooling for Sustained Performance
High-performance components in a compact enclosure require serious thermal engineering, and GMKtec has equipped the NEO-X1 Pro with CPU liquid cooling and a three-fan cooling design. The liquid-cooled architecture is intended to help maintain stable performance during extended gaming sessions and demanding workloads while keeping the overall system considerably more compact than a conventional gaming tower. The 14.6L metal chassis also gives the NEO-X1 Pro a very different identity from conventional gaming PCs. GMKtec has not treated the compact format as an excuse to compromise on expansion. The NEO-X1 Pro supports DDR5-5600 memory, with two SO-DIMM slots and support for up to 96GB of RAM. Storage expansion is equally impressive, with two M.2 PCIe 5.0 ×4 slots, supporting up to 16TB of total storage according to GMKtec’s specifications. The standard configuration currently listed for the RTX 5070 model is 64GB RAM + 2TB SSD, giving buyers a powerful out-of-the-box configuration for gaming, creation and professional applications.
Wi-Fi 7, 2.5GbE and Plenty of Connectivity
The NEO-X1 Pro is also designed as a modern desktop workstation, featuring Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4 and 2.5GbE LAN. Connectivity includes multiple USB-A ports, USB-C data connectivity, HDMI 2.1, DisplayPort 1.4, dedicated RTX 5070 display outputs and a selection of audio connections. The system can drive up to four displays, with support for resolutions up to 8K. Windows 11 Pro comes pre-installed, while GMKtec also lists compatibility with Ubuntu and Linux.
Built-In Power Supply
Despite its compact dimensions, the NEO-X1 Pro is designed as a complete desktop system rather than a laptop-style solution. GMKtec lists an 850W SFX 80 PLUS Gold power supply in the detailed specifications, providing substantial headroom for the Ryzen 9 9955HX3D and RTX 5070 combination. This is particularly interesting for enthusiasts who want a compact gaming PC but don’t want to give up the flexibility and upgrade potential associated with desktop hardware.
Global Launch and Pricing
The NEO-X1 Series officially launched on August 17, 2026, with GMKtec offering both the standard NEO-X1 and the more powerful NEO-X1 Pro. The NEO-X1 Pro Ryzen 9 9955HX3D + RTX 5070 is currently listed on GMKtec’s US store at $2,899.99, reduced from a displayed $3,699.99 regular price. The listed configuration includes 64GB RAM and a 2TB SSD. European buyers can also find the NEO-X1 Pro listed with a Super-Early-Bird price of €2,599.99 for the 9955HX3D + RTX 5070 configuration with 64GB RAM and 2TB SSD, according to GMKtec’s European store.
A Gaming PC We Would Love to Test at CGR
The GMKtec NEO-X1 Pro is certainly one of the more ambitious compact gaming PCs we’ve seen from GMKtec. The combination of the Ryzen 9 9955HX3D, RTX 5070, liquid cooling, high-speed DDR5 memory, PCIe 5.0 storage expansion and Wi-Fi 7 inside a 14.6L chassis makes it particularly interesting from a real-world testing perspective. We would love to test the GMKtec NEO-X1 Pro at CGR and put its performance to the test with real gaming benchmarks, thermal measurements, noise testing, SSD performance, CPU/GPU stress tests and everyday productivity workloads. A full CGR review would also allow us to see how effectively GMKtec’s liquid-cooling solution handles the Ryzen 9 9955HX3D and RTX 5070 combination during extended workloads. For enthusiasts looking for high-end gaming performance in a compact desktop, the NEO-X1 Pro deserves a close look. It takes the familiar mini-PC concept and pushes it considerably further, delivering hardware and expansion capabilities that traditionally belong to much larger gaming desktops.
