Insta360 Luna Ultra 8K Leica-Powered Gimbal Camera Drawn to Brilliance
Leica Optics Meet 8K Cinematic Imaging
At the heart of the Luna Ultra sits a premium Leica Summicron lens paired with a powerful 1-inch 8K image sensor. This combination allows creators to capture stunning 8K video at 30 frames per second and silky-smooth 4K footage at up to 120 frames per second with Dolby Vision support. The result is footage packed with detail, realistic colors, and remarkable dynamic range. Highlights remain controlled, shadows retain depth, and every frame delivers a cinematic appearance that feels closer to professional mirrorless cameras than traditional compact gimbal devices. Even when footage is cropped during editing, image quality remains exceptionally sharp, providing creators with greater flexibility during post-production.
Professional Telephoto Performance in Your Pocket
The Luna Ultra goes beyond traditional wide-angle shooting thanks to its professional-grade 1/1.3-inch telephoto camera. Equipped with Leica optics, it delivers natural background separation and beautiful bokeh effects that are typically associated with larger interchangeable-lens systems. Users can explore five essential focal lengths while enjoying up to 12x zoom and an impressive 6x lossless zoom. Whether capturing distant wildlife, sporting events, cityscapes, architecture, or intimate portraits, Luna Ultra provides creative freedom without sacrificing image quality. Telephoto macro capabilities also allow creators to reveal intricate textures and tiny details while maintaining stable and smooth footage through the advanced stabilization system.
Triple AI Chip Delivers Exceptional Low-Light Results
One of the most impressive features of the Insta360 Luna Ultra is its advanced Triple AI Chip architecture. The system combines dual dedicated imaging processors with a flagship 4nm AI processor to dramatically enhance image processing performance. This powerful setup significantly reduces image noise while improving brightness, detail, and overall clarity, especially in challenging low-light environments. Night scenes, indoor events, concerts, city lights, and sunset landscapes all benefit from the Luna Ultra’s dedicated PureVideo mode, which supports low-light recording at up to 4K60fps. The result is cleaner footage with more visible detail and less grain than many competing cameras can achieve.
Stunning Portraits Without the Editing Hassle
The Luna Ultra has been designed to understand people as well as scenery. Advanced AI portrait optimization recognizes faces and intelligently adjusts skin tone, texture, and overall rendering to create natural-looking results directly from the camera. Instead of producing overly processed or artificial-looking portraits, Luna Ultra maintains realistic facial characteristics while enhancing overall image quality. This makes it ideal for vloggers, influencers, content creators, and anyone who wants professional-looking portraits without spending hours editing. The camera also supports beautiful 4K60fps portrait videos that are ready to share immediately across social media platforms.
True 3-Axis Stabilization for Professional Motion
Unlike digital stabilization systems that often crop footage and reduce image quality, Luna Ultra features a true 3-axis mechanical gimbal that keeps footage smooth while preserving maximum resolution. Whether walking through crowded streets, filming action sequences, riding a bicycle, or recording travel adventures, creators can achieve cinematic camera movements with minimal effort. The stabilization system delivers fluid motion and eliminates unwanted camera shake, resulting in footage that looks professionally produced.
Innovative Detachable OLED Touchscreen
One of Luna Ultra’s most unique features is its detachable 2-inch OLED touchscreen controller. The removable display functions as both a remote control and monitoring solution, supporting HD image transmission at distances of up to 20 meters in optimal conditions. Built-in microphone functionality further enhances convenience, allowing creators to monitor and control recording without being physically attached to the camera. This innovative design opens new creative possibilities for solo creators, vloggers, and filmmakers who often need to monitor shots remotely.
AI Tracking That Never Loses the Subject
Keeping moving subjects perfectly framed becomes effortless thanks to Insta360’s advanced AI Deep Track and Rapid Focus technology. The system automatically identifies and follows subjects while maintaining focus and composition. Luna Ultra supports Auto Tracking, Group Tracking, and Active Zoom Tracking, making it ideal for sports, family activities, wildlife filming, travel content, and dynamic action sequences. Instead of constantly adjusting framing, creators can focus on storytelling while the camera intelligently handles tracking responsibilities.
Professional Color Grading with 10-Bit I-Log
For advanced creators and filmmakers, Luna Ultra includes support for 10-bit I-Log recording with up to 14 stops of dynamic range. This professional recording format preserves extensive color, highlight, and shadow information, providing significantly more flexibility during color grading. Whether producing cinematic travel films, commercial content, documentaries, or creative projects, users gain the freedom to achieve their desired visual style without compromising image quality.
Panorama Photography Reimagined
Photography enthusiasts will appreciate Luna Ultra’s impressive 200MP Scenic Panorama mode. With a single tap, creators can capture ultra-high-resolution panoramic images that reveal extraordinary levels of detail. From mountain landscapes and coastal views to city skylines and architectural masterpieces, every scene benefits from incredible clarity and immersive perspective.
