360 S5 robot vacuum cleaner hands-on using experience
In fact, at the beginning, I personally was skeptical about the smart robot cleaner. Just after 2 days, I decided to place an order on the Gearbest.com. When I received it, I regretted it. I regretted not taking it home earlier! Appearance
There are only two buttons on the front panel of 360 S5 robot vacuum cleaner. The bottom is the switch key, and the top is the back charge button. While pressing the two buttons together for three seconds, the WiFi can be reset. Around the robot cleaner, you can also find more than ten types of sensors, which highly mimics humans’ recognition patterns. The cleaner can clean along the edges of objects to avoid furniture damages and bumping. It can also identify the obstacles, like curtain, and avoid them.
Next look at the back. The path determines how much area can be cleaned, and the suction power determines how clean it can sweep. According to the official introduction, the S5 is also equipped with a NIDEC brushless motor, with the maximum suction up to 2000Pa, and the equipped anti-drop detector can prevent it from falling.
The design of the charging stand is a bit ordinary. The upper black part is the feature code area, and the two charging pole pieces are used to dock with the robot cleaner. The black area in the middle of the pole piece is the signal emitting area. Since the base itself is relatively light, it is recommended to place it against the wall and place it at a fixed point. Do not move around, which is good for the robot cleaner to find the home quickly.
A trunking storage box is also designed on the back of the charging stand, which can be seen by opening the back cover. Why is it designed like this? For good looking! The charging indicator on the top is always on and will only go out when charging. After the charging dock is connected, the indicator light of the main unit will on. Next, focus on the APP. You can scan the QR code on the manual, or you can also go directly to the application market to download the APP. The first time you need to register. Please pay attention to the model, and do not choose the wrong model, or you can not bind up.
The first time, you need to press and hold the power button and the back button on the main unit for 3 seconds to enter the distribution mode, and then find the corresponding device connection in the wireless LAN. The binding is successful. Once the robot cleaner and your account are successfully bound, you can no longer bind to other accounts unless you unbind them first.
It is very necessary to upgrade the firmware and optimize the algorithm when you use the first time. The charging dock needs to be connected when updating, otherwise, the upgrade will stop.
In the “Consumables & Maintenance” item, you can see the current consumption of the consumables, which is calculated based on the time of use. As for the sensor, it is recommended to clean it once a week.
The smart robot cleaner S5 can memorize its own cleaning progress in real time, and even if it is automatically recharged due to lack of power, it can continue the unfinished cleaning task after fully charged. Highly cross-over ability design, easy to climb over small obstacles, like the toilet, balcony stairs, etc. , I also specially tested the performance of the robot cleaner on the slippery floor tiles, and it turned out that the wheels did not slip. Just one problem that, occasionally there will be entanglement when there is a wire in the ground.
From the path planning map, I found that 360 robot cleaner always turns to the left, which is directly related to the design of its one-sided brush. The LDS laser ranging sensor is very helpful for path planning, and the corner area can be covered almost completely. The chair is well bypassed, and there are few repeated or chaotic paths, no re-cleaning or no-sweeping, and the efficiency is quite high. In addition, in the process of cleaning, the auxiliary sensor has a great effect. When it encounters a solid wall, it gently touches it instead of hitting it, and then turn left, the cleaner begins to clean along the wall and the logic is clear.
What must be highly praised is the function of setting the restricted area. Many of the same type of robot cleaners need to install virtual wall to realize this function, which means another expenditure. However the 360 robot cleaner can set the restricted areas directly on the APP.
Cleaning performance
When I first used it, I was very disappointed to find that 360 S5 would smash the smudges stuck on the chassis to the carpet. Fortunately, it was all dust, easy to clean up. Sweeping across the floor and then stepping on the carpet, which feels like scratching mud on the carpet…
Before the test began, I was worried that the wheel would be twisted into the hair. When I looked at it, I found that the hair would not be stuck into the wheel, but the brush was very sticky. It might be a problem with the material of the brush, and the dust was heavily stained on the brush, which needs to be got rid of manually.

Compared with other products of the same type, it is value for the money. It is very suitable for daily commuter office workers, who are busy with work and have no time to clean. In a family with a baby, it may have some influence on daily life.
