Xiaomi 15: The Ultimate Compact Flagship
Xiaomi held one of its most important domestic launch events of the year, officially introducing Xiaomi 15 Series, Xiaomi Pad 7, and Xiaomi HyperOS 2 to Mainland China. Xiaomi 15 continues the classic design language of Xiaomi series, with every detail meticulously refined. The device features a quad-curve middle frame design with clean edges that subtly curve on the rear, creating a smooth, rounded feel wherever your fingers touch. Adhering to a balanced 50:50 weight distribution, Xiaomi 15 feels exceptionally well-balanced in hand. Xiaomi 15 will be available in its domestic market in Black, White, Green, and Purple. All four colors use a glass material with a velvet-like sandblasting, offering a smooth yet textured finish.
Also unveiled was a specially designed Liquid Silver Edition, which features a unique rear glass panel that has undergone an exceptionally refined hot-pressing process to create a textured ripple effect.
Compact but full of power with a 5400mAh high-capacity battery
Xiaomi 15 features a large 5400mAh battery, breaking expectations that compact phones must have small batteries. With a silicon content of up to 6% and industry leading energy density at 850Wh/L, the battery capacity has increased by 790mAh compared to the previous generation despite reducing the device weight by 2g. Charging is as convenient as ever with 90W HyperCharge and 50W wireless HyperCharge.
Compact yet visually impactful, featuring a 6.36″ display
Xiaomi 15 features a 6.36-inch display with an ultra-narrow 1.38mm bezel, creating a stunning visual experience. This is made possible by Xiaomi’s innovative LIPO three-dimensional packaging technology, which uses low-pressure injection molding to encapsulate the display’s flex cable area. This allows the cable area to fit directly against the middle frame, significantly reducing the lower bezel of the display—marking another breakthrough in Xiaomi’s display technology. The screen’s brightness achieves a max of up to 3200 nits while featuring LTPO technology, allowing for a variable refresh rate of 1-120Hz and supporting partitioned refreshing, further reducing power consumption.
Three Leica high-speed lenses, compact size with flagship optical system
Xiaomi 15 is equipped with three Leica ultra-high-speed lenses, with the primary featuring a f/1.62 large aperture paired with a 1/1.31″ Light Fusion 900 image sensor, offering faster speeds and superior image capabilities. The telephoto lens uses a new 28nm sensor, supporting richer features while implementing the highly-praised floating lens design. This telephoto achieves a super-large focus range from as close as 10cm to much larger ranges, allowing both telephoto portraits and magical close-up shots. The ultra-wide-angle lens has an equivalent focal length of 14mm and an ƒ/2.2 large aperture, capable of capturing landscape photos with exceptional visual impact. On the software front, Xiaomi AISP 2.0 platform has been upgraded and is capable of computing up to 4.3 billion pixels per second, speeding up the entire shooting process and capturing complex scenes vividly.
Also launched were Xiaomi 15 Custom Edition and Xiaomi 15 Limited Edition.
The Custom Edition offers a choice of black-and-white high-gloss frame and three color palettes for users to explore. Xiaomi has created 20 custom color options that can be freely combined with the frame to create 40 different color combinations. Xiaomi 15 Limited Edition is designed with premium in mind. The middle frame is inlaid with an eco-cultivated diamond, featuring 57 dazzling facets that shine brilliantly alongside the glossy metallic frame. The back panel is made from nano-tech vegan leather material and is available in three colors: White, Gray, and Orange. Each Xiaomi 15 Limited Edition includes a matching nano-tech vegan leather cardholder and passport holder.
Price and availability
Xiaomi 15 is available in four colors: White, Black, Green, and Purple. The prices are as follows: 12GB+256GB for 4,499 RMB, 12GB+512GB for 4,799 RMB, 16GB+512GB for 4,999 RMB, and 16GB+1TB for 5,499 RMB.
Xiaomi 15 Custom Edition, with a 16GB+512GB configuration, is priced at 4,999 RMB, and Xiaomi 15 Limited Edition, with a 16GB+1TB configuration, is priced at 5,999 RMB.
