Moondrop Harmon 3 Dynamic Driver XTM Series IEMs Launched
Moondrop doesn’t need any introduction among audiophiles. It is one of the most active brands in the market specialising in the portable audio scene with a huge collection of products including IEMs, DAC/AMPs, CD Players, Headphones, and more. Moondrop has unveiled a brand new pair of high-performance in-ear monitors, presenting the Moondrop Harmon. With the Harmon, Moondrop has done something new, the pair features a three-dynamic driver configuration with advanced XTM frequency crossover technology with an innovative four-cavity tuning system. The pair features three full-sized 10mm dynamic drivers in a rather unique configuration. We have a dual composite 10mm dynamic driver setup in H.O.D.D.U.S (Horizontally Opposed Dual Dynamic Driver System) configuration. They deliver an outstanding lower-end response. The third 10mm Dynamic driver produces a clean and accurate midrange and treble frequency band response. Moondrop Harmon is a project developed with years of expertise in designing premium-sounding IEMs. Moondrop has used extensive FEA Simulation technologies with an experienced team of acoustic engineers to achieve an excellent sound clarity and a rich music listening experience with the Harmon.
Moondrop Harmon stands out in this competitive market full of amazing IEMs with its 3 Dynamic Drivers on each side setup. Different from other multi-dynamic driver IEMs in the market, the Moondrop Harmon employs an advanced crossover technology. Each driver here has its own acoustic cavity carefully crafted to perfection. The pair adopts a four-cavity tuning system which has been finalised using advanced FEA(Finite Element Analysis) simulation technology. Moondrop has perfected this cavity structure after countless simulation experiments by a professional team of acoustic engineers. The pair adopts a dual 10mm composite Isobaric setup featuring two 10mm dynamic drivers in a horizontal parallel position. This setup is designed to deliver a powerful, robust lower-end response. We have previously seen this H.O.D.D.U.S. dual DD setup in famous models from Moondrop including the Moondrop Blessing 3.
However, the highlight of the Moondrop Harmon is with its third 10mm mid-treble driver unit. It adopts a glass-dome flexible suspension composite diaphragm, which is manufactured through a specialised glass molding process. This diaphragm is micron-level thick and offers great rigidity and enhanced damping while maintaining ultra-lightweight characteristics. It delivers a crystal clear response in midrange and treble frequencies. Each driver here on the Moondrop Harmon has got its own N52 magnetic architecture. The mid-treble driver unit adopts a dual-magnetic design featuring two N52 neodymium magnets. Moondrop Harmon produces a strong magnetic flux, enhancing the efficiency of the pair and promising fast transients, a clear three-frequency band with ultra-low distortion in the output.
Achieving a fully-consistent phase response with multiple dynamic driver setups is not an easy feat. Moondrop has achieved this with the Harmon with the help of scientific level professional engineering. Moondrop Harmon has a fully-consistent phase across the drivers throughout the frequency band. The pair sounds like a single unit delivering an outstanding response. Moondrop has tuned the pair close to the VDSF target response curve with some adjustments made to deliver a clear, rich, and dynamic sound profile. The pair delivers impressive clarity throughout the frequency band, offers fast, dynamic lower end, clear, responsive midrange, and accurate, extended treble region. Moondrop Harmon delivers a balanced three-frequency response, matched with enhanced clarity, the pair complements different genres of music well.
Moondrop has partnered with HeyGears, a top brand in the industry known for its extensive 3D printing solutions. The shell of the Harmon is crafted using DLP-3D Printing technology. It offers a comfortable wearing experience. The pair comes with a high-purity stock cable. It adopts 0.78mm 2-pin connectors and features a swappable termination plug system. Moondrop bundles 3.5mm single-ended and 4.4mm plugs in the package of Harmon.
Moondrop Harmon is a brand new product in the ever-growing catalog by Moondrop. We are excited to bring you this amazing pair of high-resolution in-ear monitors.
