Moondrop Horizon Full-Size Over-Ear Open-Back Headphones

Moondrop has launched a brand new pair of full-sized over-ear headphones, introducing the Moondrop Horizon. Unlike previous launches from Moondrop that featured planar drivers, the latest Horizon is designed with a newly developed 50mm ULT dynamic driver unit. Developed with an all-new acoustic structure featuring inclined driver angle, dual-magnetic circuit, and premium driver specs, the Moondrop Horizon promises an exquisite sound with rich bass, exciting vocals, and lively treble region. Moondrop has designed the Horizon with a high-sensitivity, low-distortion design; additionally, the headphones also have a featherlight design.
Moondrop has developed a new 50mm ultra-high-performance ULT dynamic driver for the Horizon. This new driver has come out as a result of two years of extensive research and development by an experienced team of acoustic engineers. The pair adopts a high-quality titanium-plated PEN dome and a dual-layered liquid silica gem suspension composite diaphragm. We usually see PEN material in flagship-grade headphones; it is used in the dome here with exquisite titanium plating. This dome structure has an excellent level of rigidity and also has great damping characteristics. Similarly, the dual-layered liquid silica gel suspension provides swifter diaphragm movement, ensuring clean, impactful sound with ultra-low distortion. This exceptional driver is specially designed to deliver an exceptional performance.
In order to further enhance the efficiency and ensure ultra-low distortion in the output signal, Moondrop has designed Horizon Headphones with a powerful magnetic architecture. The pair features a dual-sided magnetic design featuring two sets of N55 neodymium magnets. The pair achieves an ultra-high magnetic flux of about 1.85T. Moondrop has optimized this magnetic architecture with FEA-Optimization technology. Furthermore, we also have inclined angled placement for the drivers, which results in enhanced sound response on the Horizon. The driver placement is properly calculated to maximize the output result. Moondrop Horizon has an open-back design. Combined with a carefully designed acoustic structure, Horizone packs an interesting experience.
Moondrop has adjusted the tuning of Horizon following their VDSF target response. The pair is said to have a neutral sound profile, showcasing exquisite details to the listeners. Moondrop has crafted the pair with a lightweight and comfortable design. The pair provides exceptional comfort to its users, making it an ideal option for long music/gaming sessions. Moondrop Horizon features dual 3.5mm connectors and comes with a high-purity stock cable. The stock cable has swappable connectors with 3.5mm and 4.4mm plugs included in the package.
