SDMC @ Google APAC TV Summit: Rethinking Telco Home in the AI Era
Slower growth, higher churn, and increasingly similar services are reshaping the telecom landscape — and pushing operators to look for new ways to differentiate. At the summit, SDMC introduced the latest evolution of its AI Home solution, demonstrating how Google Cloud and AI can unlock new revenue opportunities and expand new growth opportunities in home services.
Since its debut in 2024, SDMC’s AI Home Solution has evolved rapidly. At its core is Cedar, SDMC’s home AI agent, integrated with Google’s latest Gemini model to enhance reasoning, natural conversational abilities, overall AI service performance and user experience. Cedar’s capabilities have also expanded beyond entertainment and networking to high-value scenarios such as security, energy saving, and companion services, bringing smarter intelligence to everyday moments at home.
As part of this evolution, SDMC AI Home combines a clear distributed cloud–edge–end structure with deep Google ecosystem integration, providing operators a scalable foundation to deliver seamless, intelligent, and cohesive AI services throughout the home.
Looking ahead, SDMC will continue elevating the AI Home experience—advancing big-screen intelligence through Android TV / Google TV and new AI streaming devices, while strengthening Cedar’s learning, reasoning, and conversational capabilities via Google Cloud and advanced AI, supported by the new AI Camera for next-generation visual interaction. SDMC will also further enable an open, interoperable AI Home ecosystem through deeper alignment with Google Home and full Matter compatibility.
