AFUL has loaded the ICEBORNE with a dual Cirrus Logic CS43198 DAC chipset to deliver a remarkably clean high-resolution audio signal processing with low distortion and high SNR, DNR performance. Utilizing their unique Dual-Core Tuning technology and advanced USB Lossless Transmission, AFUL ICEBORNE delivers a true high-fidelity listening experience to its users.
AFUL has designed the ICEBORNE with a clear vision: to design a portable source that moves away from the metal-clad standard DAC/AMPs that heat up while working. They have worked with the philosophy of “hiding rhythm in form, hiding sound in the core.” The device is properly handcrafted with a 3D-printed resin material chassis.
Moving away from the cold metal shells that are prone to static shocks and heat retention, its design draws inspiration from the elegant “ice crack patterns” of traditional Suzhou garden window lattices. Each unit is a product of meticulous hand-finishing, from the careful removal of 3D printing supports to a comprehensive manual polishing using four distinct grades of sandpaper. Coated with a premium, low-temperature cured German skin-friendly varnish, the ICEBORNE offers a warm, silky grip and a completely cool-running operation.
To achieve high-fidelity sonic excellence, AFUL has equipped the ICEBORNE with a premium DUAL DAC chipset. It houses dual CS43198 DAC chips from Cirrus Logic. This advanced 32-Bit DAC architecture promises pure high-resolution audio signal processing with support for 32-bit/768kHz PCM and native DSD256 audio signals. While decoding Hi-Res audio, the ICEBORNE maintains an ultra-low distortion of less than 0.00037%. Rather than just relying on standard chip specifications, AFUL went a step further by implementing a rigorous dual-core tuning process to ensure complete sonic purity across all frequencies.
The ICEBORNE promises an exceptionally dark, noise-free background thanks to its stage-by-stage power ripple suppression and precise ground loop segmentation developed by AFUL specifically for this DAC/AMP. This advanced layout manually calibrates thermal noise, achieving an ultra-low noise floor of just 1μV on the 3.5mm port and 1.5μV on the 4.4mm balanced output, making it completely silent even when paired with highly sensitive modern IEMs.
Additionally, AFUL addresses common digital transmission bugs with an optimized USB lossless transmission architecture. By reworking hardware buffers and clock synchronization protocols, the ICEBORNE actively eliminates data packet drops and jitter, delivering high-frequency clarity and an expanded soundstage that rivals traditional coaxial or optical inputs on other premium-priced gear.
Catering perfectly to both single-ended and balanced audio gear, the ICEBORNE features dual output options with 3.5mm and 4.4mm headphone ports. It delivers a robust driving thrust reaching up to 300mW per channel at a 16Ω load, giving it plenty of power to comfortably run your favourite IEMs and full-sized headphones. To ensure a seamless data stream with the source device, AFUL includes a high-purity 6N single-crystal copper silver-plated Type-C to Type-C interconnect cable in the package.
