ANBERNIC RG 55G1 Is Now Available – Be First to Save $10
A New Snapdragon-Powered Chapter for ANBERNIC
The RG 55G1 represents more than another addition to ANBERNIC’s rapidly expanding handheld portfolio. It is the manufacturer’s first gaming handheld powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon, specifically the Snapdragon G1 Gen 2 (SG4250P). Manufactured on a 4nm process, the processor combines two Kryo Gold cores running at up to 2.4GHz with six Kryo Silver cores at up to 2.0GHz, accompanied by the Qualcomm Adreno A12 GPU. Buyers can choose between 4GB RAM + 64GB storage and 8GB RAM + 128GB storage configurations. The handheld runs Android 14, opening the door to native Android gaming as well as emulation. ANBERNIC states that the system supports Android titles and more than 20 types of emulators, giving the RG 55G1 considerable flexibility as an all-in-one portable gaming device.
5.5-Inch Full HD Incell IPS Display
Dominating the front is a 5.5-inch Incell IPS touchscreen with a crisp 1920 × 1080 Full HD resolution. It uses OCA full lamination, supports multi-touch and is covered by 2.5D glass, helping the screen integrate cleanly into the horizontal chassis. That 1080p resolution should be particularly attractive for Android games, game streaming and older titles that can take advantage of higher rendering resolutions. It also gives the RG 55G1 considerably more versatility for multimedia use than a lower-resolution retro-focused display.
Hall Joysticks, Hall Triggers and RGB Lighting
ANBERNIC has paid considerable attention to the physical control system. The RG 55G1 features large-angle 3D Hall-effect joysticks and Hall-effect triggers, technologies designed to provide precise input while reducing the mechanical wear associated with conventional potentiometer-based controls. Double-shot action buttons are also part of the control package. The joysticks incorporate customizable 16-million-color RGB illumination, with breathing, rainbow, marquee and chasing effects among the available lighting modes. Players can also customize the lighting color to suit their setup. A built-in six-axis gyroscope, vibration motor and DSP-based sound processing further expand the handheld’s gaming credentials.
Active Cooling for Sustained Gaming
Rather than relying entirely on passive heat dissipation, the RG 55G1 incorporates a high-speed fan and heat-pipe active cooling system. This is an important addition for a Snapdragon-powered Android handheld intended for longer gaming and emulation sessions. Maintaining controlled operating temperatures can help the processor sustain its performance instead of having to aggressively reduce clock speeds as heat builds up. Despite the cooling hardware and sizeable screen, the console remains relatively portable at approximately 208 × 86 × 17 mm and 339 grams.
RG Home Brings a More Integrated Gaming Experience
Hardware is only one side of the RG 55G1 story. ANBERNIC has developed a more complete Android gaming environment around the device, including RG Home, RG Control Center and RG Key Mapping. RG Home is intended to make accessing and organizing games considerably more console-like than navigating a conventional Android interface. Key mapping also helps bridge the gap between physical controls and Android titles originally designed primarily around touchscreen input. The handheld additionally supports FOTA wireless firmware updates, online multiplayer, game streaming and wireless screen projection. Users can switch between native and Turnip graphics drivers as well.
ANBERNIC AI Comes to the Handheld
One of the more unusual aspects of the RG 55G1 is the integration of ANBERNIC AI. According to the manufacturer, its AI functionality includes one-click game-guide retrieval, real-time translation, intelligent dialogue, text-to-image generation and image-processing capabilities. Real-time translation could be particularly interesting for retro-gaming enthusiasts exploring titles that never received an official localization, while instant access to gaming guidance provides another practical use for an AI assistant directly within a portable console.
6000mAh Battery and Up to 2TB Expansion
Inside the RG 55G1 is a substantial 6000mAh lithium-polymer battery, with ANBERNIC quoting battery life of approximately eight hours. Charging reaches 18W, while storage can be expanded through a TF/microSD card with capacities of up to 2TB. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 5 and Bluetooth 5.0, while a 3.5mm stereo headphone connection remains available for wired audio. High-fidelity integrated speakers handle sound when headphones are not required.
Three Classic Color Options
The RG 55G1 is available in Black, Retro Gray and Indigo, providing a choice between a subdued contemporary appearance and designs that deliberately reference classic handheld gaming hardware. ANBERNIC also offers configurations bundled with 128GB or 256GB microSD cards, alongside versions without an additional card.
ANBERNIC RG 55G1 – Key Specifications
The headline specification is the Qualcomm Snapdragon G1 Gen 2 processor paired with Adreno A12 graphics, but the complete package is equally interesting: a 5.5-inch 1920 × 1080 Incell IPS touchscreen, Android 14, 4GB/64GB or 8GB/128GB memory configurations, microSD expansion up to 2TB, 3D Hall joysticks, Hall triggers, six-axis gyroscope, customizable RGB joystick lighting, active fan-and-heat-pipe cooling, Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.0 and a 6000mAh battery with 18W charging. At 339 grams, it remains compact enough to retain the portable character expected from an ANBERNIC handheld while packing substantially more modern hardware and software features into the familiar horizontal format.
Launch Deal: Save $10 During the First Three Days
The RG 55G1 is available now, and ANBERNIC is rewarding early buyers with a straightforward launch promotion. For the first three days, the base RG 55G1 is listed at $139.99, reduced from its regular $149.99 price — a $10 saving. For anyone who has been waiting to see ANBERNIC move into Qualcomm Snapdragon-powered handhelds, the RG 55G1 is an especially significant release. The combination of Snapdragon G1 Gen 2 hardware, a 1080p display, Hall controls, active cooling, Android 14, RG Home and ANBERNIC AI makes this one of the company’s most interesting new-generation horizontal handhelds. The introductory discount is limited to the first three days, so early buyers can save $10 by ordering during the launch promotion.
